  1. Fans like this should do the job well. http://www.hydroponicfans.co.uk/acatalog/Extractor_Fans.html I've seen people enclose generators before in a very hot country, the way they did it was to have an Aircon unit pumping cold air inside the box.
  2. Some of them locks can throw your boat about a bit but you've got a wide beam and were going up. Doesn't sound like anything bad really happened at all....
  3. I once entered a bridge on a corner and couldn't see the other side, I went in slow incase another boat was approaching so they could use the horn back at me. Instead I was forced out of the bridge up onto rocks the other side, had a man shout at me for not looking where I'm going and left me stranded. That was on the Llangollen. At first I felt ashamed but only other option to have prevented it would have been to tie up the boat and walk through the bridge to check its clear.... not sure if that would be going to far though.
  4. T'was always full during end march. Only obstacle was the weather https://www.facebook.com/dejame666/videos/10202696892903734/?l=7740191207048315992 https://www.facebook.com/dejame666/videos/10202696437252343/?l=7805466482212610244
  5. Get on the roof with a good mop n bucket and boiling water.
  6. Well I ran my engine till 9pm today. Boater behind me was out on the deck smoking so said do you mind if I run my engine for an hour, he said no problem. Can't be much fairer than that.
  7. People running engines and going past before 8am is more annoying than someone running an engine past 8pm. I can sleep through the sound of an engine anyway. They should change it to 10pm
  8. Maybe the boat will let others moor up and plug into it and pay £5 per day for the unlimited electric. The bow looks badly made and steel looks thin to me.
  9. I hear it was unlicencecd? If so doubt its covered by insurance.
  10. Yeah they are a good company, very friendly and good prices
  11. I went past a CRT workboat once and saw the workman eating lunch, I waved and he shouted WTF you staring at.... I was shocked to say the least.
  12. If it was one gate then the lock chamber would need to be bigger to accommodate the opening.
  13. Agree about Sowerby bridge. I like the stretch between Sowerby and Brighouse.
  14. Lidl on the canal just after the services. Great spot to moor to use the car park.
  15. I just would have thought its something that would/should have been considered beforehand. Seems like such a shame not to be able to use the boat because the dog can't get on/off. I know many dogs that are old on boats and have to be lifted on and off. So I'm not sure if this is a real reason for the sale or not.
  16. How horrible. Hopefully a quick recovery!
  17. Surely she should have seen if the dog could get on a boat before having one made.
  18. I like the colour, if only it had a steam engine
  19. Interesting. I few of my boating friends have this on their mind for the future. Anyway I wish you the best of luck in your new adventure
  20. Don't fret over it. Some nasty people out there. I once went into a lock and before I was ready a guy opened the paddles up at the front and the suction pulled me towards the gate at speed. The whole time the guy watched and shouted at me f'in slow down... when I smashed into it he said what the f were you going so fast into the gate for. I had to put him straight that it was his fault and my revving engine was not in forward but in reverse. Some tossers out there I tell you. Anyway hope you have some better times ahead, i'm sure you will
  21. Yes it was First time i've experienced anything like it. We evacuated thinking we were sinking!
  22. This happened to us a few weeks back at around 4am. All boaters were up on the side of the towpath with their boats listing badly due to the shelf. Some boaters had items damaged from how severe the listing was.
