  1. And your comment bears no relationship to the question I wanted an answer to.
  2. I'm trying, and failing, to understand why you think those named places would be required to be visited to fall in line with the 100 mile figure. It certainly isn't the way I read their suggestion.

  5. Well done and great photos. Living locally I'm afraid that getting the section south of Berriew reopened will be a very long task, as there are far too many bridges on the A489 that have been lowered and/or totally removed. There will be various events on the canal in Welshpool over the weekend of 23rd/24th of June, when the Welshpool Transport Festival takes place. I'll be there on one of the days with the local Classic Car Club. http://welshpooltransportfestival.org.uk/
  6. No, because none of the hire companies or the boat yards where we kept ourr share boat ever explained them. Do you?
  7. What is the point on insisting that the trip boats use the ColRegs signals when probably 90% of the boaters in Brum won't have a clue what they mean? That certainly apples to the hire boaters!
  8. Whilst I know the Mon and Brec is lovely, I would suggest that hiring from somewhere "on the mainline" might be a good idea, as the ambience is very different.
  9. Looked at these at a caravan show and was not impressed. Lots of clever words but no actual facts. And they don't seem to be BS Approved, so probably not acceptable.
  10. I put thos words into Goggle and got a link to their readable page. Interesting article that does show both sides of the story, but I expect some will ignore it.
  11. No, that is a "fat" one, the one I saw was a proper narrow one.
  12. There was a blue narrow boat moored at Woodbridge last year, by the Tide Mill
  13. We had a share in a boat in a scheme very similar to this. We gave it up when we realised that we could hire a boat using one of the last minute sites for less than the annual fee. One thing I didn't find in all their notes was what happens when a boat gets to the end of it's life; what costs are going to be passed on to the sharers for it's replacement?
  14. I went passed the section south of Welshpool the other week and there didn't seem to be much weed then. To be fair, it isn't the most popular area for cruising, in fact I can't remember seeing a boat on it for a couple of years, so the lack of response isn't surprising. And have you checked the availabilty of slip ways?
  15. Caravans have been fitting gas lockers like this for some years.
  16. If someone can get Wriggly's machine to near Halesowen I might be able to sort something out from there to here in Arwystli

  18. Can any one read what is on the sign on the inner arch of the bridge?
  19. Really? They seem to do lots of times about caravan sites, or over agricultural worker housing.
  20. Perhaps this limit has been set by the Local Authority, so CaRT have to abide by it?
  21. Of course you don't. Do you? I've seen nothing from you yet.
  22. No-one has had a house stolen, so do not exagerate. And no-one has had their boat stolen either, but somehow I expect you will come back with some sarcastic and unhelpful comment, as usual. And if you can't work out which thread then I cannot understand why you are here. I now await the usual stupid comments over on Thunderboat.
