  1. Do you have a battery charger switched on, when we first purchased our boat we initially didn't realise the previous owners had taken the battery charger so plugging in to shore power wasn't charging the batteries and 12v pumps and lights still discharged the batteries.
  2. Check in the cupboards, there should be some reasonably thick cables from the batteries to the inverter so if you have a couple of thick cables disappearing from your batteries try tracking where they go.
  3. Google image search showed a couple of pages claiming it to be a UK canal as well as the link Matty has provided above.
  4. There is one on the Avon, can't remember which, that I've heard of working boats going through in reverse and I've seen a working boat reverse down the crow.
  5. Depends where you travel, there are other locks where full length boats have to pass through in reverse.
  6. You can use Google Lens to do image searches of anything from a phone camera.
  7. We stopped at the Dog and Doublet this year, dining was interesting as they had standard pub grub in the afternoon but switched to Chinese at 5pm for the evening food. Meal was ok. There is a station in Stourbridge that I've used, not far from the end of the Stourbridge branch.
  8. I've had both the license holder nominations and the volunteer nominations and able to vote on both. Different candidates in each one.
  9. I would add Gower Branch to take in the BCNs staircase, I like to mix the old and new main lines with a combination of Brades locks, Spon Lane locks and Smethwick locks.
  10. As a license holder you should have received details of the C&RT council elections, if you also volunteer you would have received the volunteer candidates to vote for them as well.
  11. I did pass a cruiser this year moored in the bridge hole just before Handsacre.
  12. The worse boats moored that I regularly encounter are narrowboats that in the last couple of years have decided mooring on the bend in Little Haywood is a good location. They are a right pita as the over hanging trees on the offside make it just about wide enough for two narrowboats to get through so with one moored up and the high probability of a hire boat or day boat coming the other way the chances of touching the moored boat is quite high. I've commented to a few when they stick their head out to complain that they are moored in a stupid location.
  13. He was stood on the stern last time we went past.

  15. When we moored at Saul junction I tended to go up to Stourport if heading for the Shroppie and Worcester or Droitwich if heading elsewhere. Never really looked at the timings as didn't feel it made much difference but always felt going up Tardebigge and down Wolverhampton was a lot of extra work
  16. Are you certain it won't fit through Napton locks, has it been tried and failed.
  17. Looks to be the same location as featured here, https://new.millsarchive.org/mills/index/?which=3456
  18. I've had that issue when single handing and getting caught by the wind. Eventually I used the reverse back in to tree lined section to get shelter from the wind and was then able to off the bank.
  19. Glass goes black due to not burning the stove hot enough, when I really get ours roaring the glass cleans off quite quickly.
  20. Did you finally do a Google image search.
  21. Perhaps the clue was linked to it being a photo taken during a cruise of 3 boats with a man in each boat.
  22. I've used CRT showers plenty of times, sometimes I'll use a shower whilst filling our water tank, sometimes I am moving a working boat with no onboard facilities.
