  1. Good work Mafster. Quite literally 'hand relief' finding them in your sack I bet a sneaky little fist pump was in evidence. Time to write a little ditty on the guitar & aquire some Omega3 supplement for the grey matter?
  2. Nigel- Thanks again for being very informative. Now, I am going to be brave & probably speak for the vast majority of Boaters................ A question. Ideally, what is required (what would you do!) to have a set of simple fully enforceable laws / rules about how far someone has to go etc....... You know what I mean. Please keep the answer / suggestion as easy on the eye as possible & thanks again
  3. Im up for it & I have not even had 1/2 a shandy top yet. PISSTAKERS PISSTAKERS PISSTAKERS PISSTAKERS PISSTAKERS PISSTAKERS PISSTAKERS Seriously though, the Darkside is now just a huge C&RT bashing site & I give it zero credibility. Absolute crap! But even more seriously, my friend is in her 70's & a Boater & the stuff they write scares her as MTB eluded too. This annoys me the most, as the poor old gal is worried. The Sonic
  4. Group A- Piss takers = very small minority = LOUDEST Group B- 33,000 Boaters = Capability of reading = following simple rules = enjoy boating. Anyone who thinks C&RT will stop Mr & Mrs Shinyboat from leaving there lovely mooring or marina on a Friday to tootle about over the weekend & then returning back to their lovely mooring or Marina on a Sunday afternoon needs a check up from the neck up. It would be instant commercial suicide. Now C&RT are not perfect but the lord's sake, this aint difficult to grasp is it? Anyway, Maffi has lost his keys. Now that's an importnat thread, not the 'Dunk's 'the world hates me thread'.
  5. I am surprised Bizzard has not had the foresight to invent a 'genny bass bin'? A weather & more sound proofed housing, designed to emit less higher annoying frequencies? Low frequencies (LFO) do it for me. Those huge homemade bassbins the Reggae'Soundsystems' created were awesome. However, complaints on the cut would mutate from 'decibels' to 'vibrations'. I wonder how the darkside would cover these? 'Vibrators on the towpath upsets the rabbits!'
  6. Bi - Aladdin? The chap with curly up shoes likes a bit of both?
  7. George- With the greatest respect, I am as thick as pigshit & can fully understand what others have stated. Therefore, I suggest a reduction in Coffee & some time better spent re-decorating the bridge you reside under.
  8. Mr Rollings- A genuine & friendly piece of advice. It may be considered wise to not have Mr Lillie anywhere near the beautiful Marina, that is Pillings, whatever his overall involvement might be. Unfortunately, he is proven not to competent in the Customer service aspect of running a successful Business. As a reminder, page 3 of this thread just about sums him up from the perspective I highlight. Anyway, I sincerely hope you are able to run the Business more successfully than before & introduce a decent ethic & offer some consultation with the moorers & some innovative ideas. Good luck, seize the opportunity & learn from what has been a torrid few months for many. Best wishes for the furture.
  9. Do the ladies not require the space under the bed taken up by a poo tank to store all of the clothes they bought in the sale in 1987 & have never worn? In their defence, they were 1/2 price but a size too small & bought in hope.......... The sun is out & I am being a cheeky chappie today to all & sundry. Cassettes all the way for us. Take a deep breath for 30 seconds & all is done & dusted. Could not imagine 200 litres.......
  10. simply put & pretty much bang on the money Mark. The KANDA mob can be rightly pigeonholed in this group.
  11. Blinkin nora Athy. I nearly spat out my tuna Sandwich trying to read the above. I hope it's not a mucky story, written to fool us. LOL. I stwugle wiv onglish me does...............
  12. Just about sums up the' freeloaders, we do what we want' attitude of Kanda
  13. Best wishes Steve, I hope the boat is ok & minimal damage.
  14. Ok, here goes. I think a max 7 days days is more than sufficient anywhere on the system, with 48hrs hours max at designated 'Honeyspots' during summer months? BTW, I am not trying to be confrontational, just interested in what other views are.
  15. Genuine question. Why is there a need for any 14 days moorings? I cannot think of good reasons, but am prepared to be educated. My question excludes 'winter moorings' & genuine illness etc .

  18. Hi Joel- Blog added to 'favourites'. I like your style. With regards to London, it's just too hustley bustley for me & too many humans.
  19. I still do not get what the problem is here. Get the enforcement right first under the existing 'times', because unless you do this you could change every single mooring's 'time' but fundamental issue remains; A minority of peetakers take the pee! Whether they be a bridge hopping CC'er or a weekend posho in their 'shiney's' or whoever. Ultimately though, the popular areas will always be oversubscribed on a sunny summer's day, with only a limited number of berths. You cannot change this. Using Brauntson as an example. I can always get a spot at Braunston. However, I moor 1/2 - 1 mile away. Not everyone can moor outside the 'pub' on a Bank Holiday when it's 30 degrees.
  20. Our trad has steps down on the left. Works fine for us. Regardless, I still bang my bonce. However, due to times of austerity, I have evolved & developed a canny method of swearing under my breath that makes me sound remarkable like 'Mutley' but avoids the requirement of a donation to the 'swear box'...... LOL. Mrs Sonic also bangs here head but makes no fuss whatsover... ''No point shouting is there'' (in a calm voice) ........... Now this pees me off even more than actually banging my head.
  21. Codswallop. Try this as a novel plan; Pay off the known 'fixed' overhead debt Chris & friends.
  22. If this was not such a serious issue I would laugh out loud at this reply to MTB. 'Making a good impression' You cannot make this stuff up! Pot & kettle etc. Those who own / have been running PL should hang their heads in shame & I sincerely hope they get what they deserve. Pay the debt for starters & stop bleeting about overheads that were there from the outset. Your screwing with peoples lives through pure greed & this in my eyes is truly despicable. And C&RT, who we know read this thread with interest, block the place as planned in April & grow a pair sharpish!
  23. Dave Ross & Mr Priest lengthened our boat (Brinklow Boat Services). Fantastic job & I love the place. Simon Wain has also completed other little 'metal' bits for us & Dave G is finishing the 'services' on the inside. No association other than the guys are brilliant & I have learnt so much too. I love Dave Ross' boat! The clever young pup built the blinking thing himself. Jealous? Not much LOL. Lottery win pending I will get these guys to build me 'old' new boat with a bed under tug deck etc. Dream................. on Looking forward to the 'Snail's' next installment..........
