    I was told by a fellow boater that the Penkridge branch is to close for good. Has anyone else heard similar.

    Looks a lovely boat with a good paint job. Joe and Rose Skinner would say 30 feet of living space is pure luxury.

    I use Aquasteel and I am happy with it . I haven't used the others though so can't compare.

    If you have checked all the inlets/outlets and they are not leaking. the tank is probably split.

    But that goes against the government guidelines re. esential travel only. Which ones are doing this.

    You won't be able to view any boats at brokerages during the lockdown . It will give you time to search all brokers on the web, get a list together of ones in your price range to see when the crisis is over. Good luck

    I was at a dinner at my sisters house in Wisconsin with her american friends, when the conversation came round to my canal life and how back in the day the boats were horse drawn. One of the women commented that the canals couldn't of been very deep or the horses would drown. ???

    I used to keep a spare can of fuel when I had an outboard engined cruiser, I continued carrying spare fuel when we first got the narrowboat but it was never used in the first two years so stopped carrying it. I usually fill up when the tank is between a quarter to half full.

    Using copper pipe and tubing with a fuel pump from my spares box, I rigged this up to remove water from the bottom of the diesel tank, worked a treat.

    It is a huge site. I expect it will be housing. I was told by a couple of the long term moorers there that the chandlery building is coming down because of asbestos.

    I think they are all gone , the caravan storage area appears to be still there.

    Embarrassingly my own fender rope, coming from Thames plastic cruisers where fenders were left down everywhere I went.,I did the same on my first narrow boat...I soon learnt.
