  1. Hi, Thanks for the fast tips, the problem (apart from the leak) is we don't really know how to check these things (afraid to make it worse) and we can't get somebody on to do it during the current circumstances. Is there a way to isolate the tank so that we can leave the boat knowing it won't get worse till we can return with somebody who knows what they're doing!? Many thanks all again...
  2. Hi, we have water coming from the bottom (we think) of the calorifier linked to the diesel engine. It doesn't appear to be coming from the inlet or outlet pipes as they feel dry to the touch. We don't think that there is a drain plug on the bottom as we can't get under to feel one, the tank appears to be sat on the floor. We discovered this leak when the water pump started to turn by itself and the boiler fired itself up, checked all taps etc and the boiler and they are fine. We heard a hissing coming from the calorifier and then discovered water leaking from the bottom and collecting in the engine room. We pumped out a few inches of water yesterday and only put the water pump on when needed today and had a few inches of water to pump out again. We found a tap on the water inlet near the bottom and turned it off, this doesn't seem to have made any difference. Any ideas about what we can do?
  3. Many thanks all.....looks like I'll have to call the experts in!
  4. thanks all! flow rate is good from both hot and cold - no filters. Makes no difference with the shower hose removed. The kitchen tap had a broken part inside which meant it could not seal - I simply replaced like for like. The hot water issue has gone on much longer than the leak. sorry - i'm not very technical!
  5. Hi all - hoping somebody can help with this problem - apologise in advance if i garble on a bit..... So, i have a Rinnai boiler, pilot light lights fine. When I open the hot tap in the kitchen sink the boiler fires up and warm water comes out - this used to be hot, but now only warm. When I open the hot tap in the bathroom or switch on the shower - the boiler doesn't fire up at all. The shower used to fire the boiler fine and the water would get really hot and stay this way with the pump out running, after a while, this would only stay lit and hot with the pump switched off - now nothing. I recently had a leak from a broken kitchen tap The water pump used to periodically sound like it was starting up for no reason - every few hours it would grind over, but this has stopped since I replaced the kitchen tap. any/all help and advice appreciated. many thanks!
