Thanks for the suggestions. Unfortunately the suggested solutions are outside my technical ability to understand. I will have to wait until I find someone local who can actually install the necessary data to make it work. Until then, I will have to live with it. ☹️

I use Firefox browser and Google search on my computer, and yesterday I noticed a change in the appearance of the Google page. The banner has changed colour to an insipid lilac, and the search box now only allows AI mode searching, there are also four boxes below the search panel, including "create images", "brainsearch" and It will not allow the auto searches suggestions to be cancelled in favour of the search I actually typed. I can only get back to the original format, by choosing AI mode and then "All" and then "more", which is all rather inconvenient (when I can remember the sequence!!) Jan's computer uses Safari browser, and Google remains unchanged in that, so it must be a Firefox thing. Does anyone know whether I can change Google back to the more convenient original format, or do I have to put up with yet another unwanted AI intrusion?

I have a copy of the brochure issued in the 1990's by Braunston Boats (Hire) Ltd. It was the last brochure they issued before they ceased trading. The painting has a similarity to Braunston style, and could be a very early example of Ron Hough's work, or someone attempting to copy his style. Dave Moore or Phil Speight may well be able to identify the painter.

The show will have finished by now, but not one single report on the event as far as I can see. Does this mark a serious decline in interest regarding historic working boats amongst forum members?

I believe that I am probably the person to whom Alan is referring. My well worn BMC 1.5 was completely stripped and re-built by Jonathon Hewitt of Union Canal Carriers in Braunston, and he did an excellent job, at what I considered to be a very fair price. I can recommend him most highly.
