Gary Peacock
We started to build a 55' x 12'6" barge with rear wheelhouse similar to this one today. If enough people show interest I will start an interactive build picture gallery and try to answer any of your questions during the build. It will be along the lines of this previous one Construction Depending on your interest we can keep it simple or get technical, I might even need to ask your advice on what will look best! It will probably be better if I find somewhere to host it but being a director of a web development company that shouldn't be a problem. So let me know if you would like 20 weeks of how to build a barge! Gary Edited March 2, 2005 by Gary Peacock

stuart
It might be interesting if you could perm. fix a camera to the factory wall so then you could actually do a time-lapsed animated video/pictures etc. Just a thought! bottle
Lets go the whole way. if a camera were set up we could watch all day by webcam. P'raps not the workers might go on strike for appearnce money then equity would become involved. No forget it photographs will be fine.

Gary Peacock
The web cam is feasible I might be able to host the stream from the security system. I will give it some thought. Gary
Glennbrown
Hi Rich, I now have no money I have no stopped caring what I look like since all I do is build the bloody thing. Biggest mistake I have made is building on the canal with access across a boggy field! next one will def be built in a yard. The boat looks superb with nearly completed modern trendy interior very much like a trendy appartment but retaining the trad external look. The boat has modern Double windows, alarm with autodialler and enables me to switch heating on and start engine remotely!! Completely over engineered but will look superb when done Glenn
John Orentas
Better make sure there is no hanky panky in the workshop!

Completely over engineered but will look superb when done Hi again Glenn, how did you ensure the bottom plate was dead flat, did you have a good flat yard, did you have any problems on that ? If you've got a round stern, how did you bend the side plate round? And have you costed up all the weld consumables for the whole job ? What did you use to shift the plate into position, forklift, gantry ? The boat sounds pretty good, lets see a pic. Rich. Gary Peacock
Is it going to be posted here, or on your site? -also, keep it nice and techy!!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I will find somewhere to host it, then I will start a new thread on the forum to link out from and also to link back into. (No point in reinventing the wheel) The feed back from the forum can then steer the project in a direction that suits ever one and I can tailor the photos to suit. I wrote the site last night so I should be able to get something up by Monday hopefully. Gary
