Spoke to BW man this morning on boat, they are hoping to get it done today.

I live alone (apart from a cat and he's terrible crew) on a 70ft boat. I think the thing is to take it slowly and get as much help as you can when you get to locks. I rely 100% on centre lines, sometimes, if its a dodgy high climb out of a lock I'll get the boat moving into the lock put it in neutral, climb up the stairs by the side of the lock with the centre line and then stop it at the top. The main thing is to keep evaluating every situation. 1. Is this the safest way I can do this. 2. What are my escape routes/assistance options if this goes wrong? 3. Do action 4. Goto 1 I think really I have to say it's experience, If you have a bigger boat it's harder to handle and things are more likely to go wrong, I can't just turn Taf anywhere and some mooring holes are especially dodgy, increased by idiots mooring in the winding hole. Bow fender is essential, and if it's low enough you can put the boat against the side to turn.

I have to say I would not blame lack of rain. I blame poor maintenance and spending money on things that should have been spent on LOCKS. I am near Uxbridge Lock that leaks like a goo dun and Cowley Lock is even worse.

I've got a 2009 Macbook pro which has 4 hours battery life Plus I use my iPhone 4 for internet Brilliant, very happy with both. Oh and I have an iPad which I'm not sure how long it lasts because I tend to have it charged - iPad is really great for doing everything except programming.

Its probably out of OIL Check the oil. A lot of petrol generators have automatic cut offs if they don't have enough oil in them.

I'm happy to report nothing last night. Chris is away working somewhere MILES away and his boat is hidden and inaccessible by foot.

Sadly I'm involved as well as she knows I'm his best mate. I have her and her cronies turning up every night. I've been forced to leave my church where she attends (would you believe!). Might have to put Taf into hiding just to get some peace. Where the hell do you hide a 70 foot boat?!?!?!?! Ah weel
