canaljunky
Thought you might like to see this video of us passing through Pendeford Rockin' a few years ago.
Athy
It looks very narrow in places, but as yours seemed to be the only boat on the canal that obviously wasn't a problem. Where is it?

Where is it? Pendeford Narrows is on Staffs and Worcs (North) just above Autherley Junction. Noted for meeting boats when you just don't want to! canaljunky
Mike Todd is correct - just above Autherley Junction on the Staffs & Worcs. There are a few passing places, and it's fairly straight,so you can see other boats coming towards you in plenty of time.
cuthound
It would help if CRT attached a chain or rope to the wall of the passing spaces, so that you have something to cling on to. Oh, and cutting back the brambles would help too.

Ex Brummie
Approached sensibly, there is no problem. You can see from one passing place to another, and if one waits in the narrow just before a passing place for an approaching boat to reach it, then you can pass without having to stop. Of course, sensibility does not come naturally to a lot of people or the paranoid shiny boat brigade, or the tailgaters or the misguided hirers, so there are often some interesting incidents. Dave Payne
went through last September, luckily no boats coming the other way!
cheshire~rose
We used to go through here regularly when we moored at Calf Heath. We regularly used to meet boats coming the other way too. As has been said there are several passing places and as it is fairly straight you can see what's coming. The biggest problem is that the passing places do not always look wide enough to be passing places, especially to inexperienced boaters and with so many hire fleets in close proximity of this section you are very likely to meet a newby there if you choose the wrong day to pass through. We once joined the back of a queue of eleven boat in there which was going nowhere so I stepped off with the walkie talkie and proceeded to walk ahead and direct folks into the wide bits to let folks through in the opposite direction. It was like playing boat Tetris.
