Thank you again all for the suggestions very much appreciated indeedy i have put a Deposit on the said GRP Narrowboat and collect it early March well i say collect i mean move onto it as it is only a few yards from my mooring

Congrats, what ever you have plans for changing the boat, use the boat first as they are bound to change.

We see that quite a lot on the Bridgewater.

Would such a boat have less draught than an equivalent steel boat?

I would imagine it would be ballasted to the same (similar) draft, otherwise it would be 'top heavy' (due to windage) and capsize.
