Not at all sure that there is a single graham of truth in what you are saying,Smartgauge is well made.

Received and fitted the replacement. Buttons are now fine, (slightly fiddly, but no big deal), and I can enter the menu.

 

Still think it's cheaply made, and would be much better looking on a NASA type box, but its now what I expected, and what I willingly paid for.

Glad it's better know. Yes it does look and feel a bit home-made but then again there is nothing else better from an internal functionality point of view. And ultimately that is what is important.
