I don't believe Braunston would ever have looked like the postcard, and while MJG's photo might be the same place it's inconclusive. There must be quite a few places with roughly the same layout as the postcard, where the bridge on the right will often be over a weir channel. Barely visible in the photo I linked to due to the growth of the trees. but I felt they matched their positions in the postcard. Plus the profile of the left hand bank matched very well to me. I didn't discount because of the (hideous) concrete bridge because Iron structures like the one in the postcard often got replaced due to wear, tear and corrosion.
