Hi the surveyor has recommended that I fit a seal around the weed hatch. There has never been a seal on it and never had any water coming in, however, I want to get things right.

What seal will do the job please?

I use approx 5mm thick neoprene gasket cut from a full sheet so that there are no joins.

This avoids leaks at corners and is very durable (should last indefinitely)

I just came across this on ebay when buying something else, it was a suggested item and may well do the trick, not as cheap as half a poundland exercise mat which is probably what I am using. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BLACK-NEOPRENE-PLAIN-SPONGE-FOAM-RUBBER-SHEET-VARIOUS-SIZES-THICKNESSES/261338185781?_trksid=p5713.c100041.m2061&_trkparms=aid%3D333008%26algo%3DRIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140109122350%26meid%3D4124ea46c9c64c5eb73b9d274d666a8b%26pid%3D100041%26rk%3D4%26rkt%3D34%26mehot%3Dpp%26sd%3D322160788730
