what happens to all the fish when the water levels drop there must be lots wandering over the fields that are under water .Obviously seagulls and birds will eat lots of them .But do angling societies organise themselves ?

The floods have started to recede from my son's school rugby pitch and there are Buzzards wheeling round like vultures round a dying wildebeest.

This is obviously because all the drowned wildebeest are being given up by the receding waters.

Most fish do make it back into deeper water. Unlike stranded boats, for example, they'd be able to sense when in too-shallow water and wriggle their way to deeper water if they become stranded.

Along with lots of escapees from peoples flooded garden ponds!!

These floods are going to introduce some interesting new species to the rivers and canals from garden ponds, the red singal crayflish and zander might get some new friends, hope no one had piranahas in thier garden pond.

Luckily, the piranha pool in my secret volcano lair didn't flood.
