As said above a mile = 8 Furlongs so 3.25 Furlongs is aprox 0.4 of a mile.

 

Actually I think I have confused myself! if the original distance was 3/4 of a Furlong rather than 3.25 then it is about a 10th of a mile or as above 7.5 chains

Yep we made it - and it was a mad dash! Two very long, lock heavy days and we're cream crackered. Keep us posted on your journey.

Nope, didn't go to Coventry but I did stop at Brinklow on the way at about around noon and ended up hanging around the paint dock where Kerry was working at the time for the rest of the day, finally getting going again the following morning.
