  1. Interesting, isn't it? I love the new Navigation and it's become a firm favourite in the village. OTOH, CWDF is no longer the community and resource it once was. Shame to see it turn into so much dross... I'm on the BCN as Team Instigator, and will be otherwise found in the pub with decent beer and no sawdust on the floor. PC
  2. I shall get some made and post them out to survivors! Agreed, a legendary banter... PC
  3. The banter is over, for another year at least. Cracking weekend, with lots of banterers and banter boats, and less rain than last year. Sadly, we only managed to drink the pub out of one barrel of beer this time... Must try harder! Thanks to everyone who came and made it what it was. Special mention to Sue and RLWP with core banter-boat Tawny Owl, as well as Odana & John and Wriggly, for hard work in food provision and general organisation! There's (possibly) a post-banter banter mooted for this evening, for anyone still around the area, (possibly) at the Punchbowl, at a time to be (possibly) decided later. Wriggly, Ange and Dave, may have the plan. PC
  4. Alnwick, do you want food obtaining? Pc
  5. Fish and chips, and Chinese planned for c. 6:30ish... Pc
  6. Mr Eichard, the sun isn't over the yardarm yet, and you've noshed all the bacon already...?! Typical... I am awake, alive (just) and have walked the dog. That's me worn out for another few hours... Pc And that's no yolk... Pc
  7. Is it time for pizza & beer & revelry & debauchery & stuff, yet? Pc
  8. Navigation opening at 6pm... Pc Careful not to get those items mixed up... Pc
  9. I'm afraid I haven't, with work, but have with traffic. Still, need a drink either way... Wriggly is in charge of the plan! Pc Ps: I'm going nowhere till this rain stops though...
  10. Dunnor, sorry. I'm out today, not back 'till this eve... PC
  11. B94 5QZ is Brome Hall Lane... PC EDIT: Is there any sort of schedule or pub time for this eve?
  12. B*gger, I'd have loved to be able to, but I'm away until late on tomorrow. RLWP and Sue must have an idea who's around for tea making...? Shame you can't make the banter! PC Edit: I still owe you for the advice & support over the 'Creamcheese is sinking' malarkey...!
  13. A Guinetta, surely? Or is that a car? I forget... PC
  14. No news, sorry. The Tom have got IPA and 'Sobreity' on at the moment. I like the latter. They did have a range of cask-on-bar ales on for the Jubilee, which were quite good too. PC
  15. From the Navigation: "Hi Paul, thanks for the message! Unfortunately we won't be serving food on Saturday as we are still to complete the renovation work on the kitchens. We will however be open for drinks and would love to welcome you all." PC
  16. There's a sign gone up outside, yesterday, saying 'Opening Friday', so they seem serious. The Tom o' the Wood reopened earlier in the year and I've been in a few times recently. Not so good for food, as it's in the same price range as The Boot and only has a menu of about five items, but as far as beer and a large garden goes, is quite good. Friendly, with decent real ale on. On the canal only a little further than the Navi, in the opposite direction. EDIT: I've asked on their FB page about food on Sat... Is there anything I can offer to provide in the way of food or drink? PC Also, Unkie Richard, I've found that gauge. Do you want it posting still? PC PS: I'm around for pre-banter drinking Friday eve, and lockwheeling Sat.
  17. I've checked mine, and it's an 11-tooth. It arrived on a marine ST2, and I've had it on that ST2, the other ST2 and the SR3 it replaced. Obviously, it'll only work on marine ST/SRs, as it goes round the correct way, not on generator ones, which were opposite rotation. You're welcome to give it a go. I expect it should work. I bought my brand-new one at around the same time as the above, which came from BBA Reman, at significant cost! That too, is an identical 11-tooth version, just brand new! PC
  18. I may have one, after my starter-replacement for the SR3 fiasco that became a long thread on here back in 2010. I'll have to dig it out and count the teeth on it though, as it came on my replacement engine. I got my brand new one from one of the huge remanufacturers, though it did cost me an arm and a leg. Credit to Tim ^^^ as he was one of the people who dug me out of that specific hole... PC
  19. Eh up... I'll pop in as soon as it looks like there's people around rather than just workmen. The Tom o' the Wood is open again, but who knows for how long, and is on the canal. The Boot is a lovely pub with excellent food, and not really any more expensive than anywhere else. However, I don't go in it on Thurs/Fri/Sat eves, as it's full of minor celebrities and second-rate footballers, and all that go with them. My local, the Punchbowl would sort us out, but it's up the hill from the canal, about a ten minute walk depending on how fit you're feeling... (And again, is not a Navigation-style venue... ) I'll go have a gander at the Navi when I see some life. Looking forward to the banter already. PC
  20. Would that be Lymm Boat Sales? Did you consider ABC in Boston - a bit of a shorter journey, cheaper (for a sailaway at least) and they actually build them rather than buy in hulls off the shelf. Just a thought. I viewed Lymm, but went with ABC, no commercial connection otherwise. PC PS: [DRNick] Hiiiiiiiiii everybody... [/DRNick]
  21. Indeed, 'tis the case. Team Creamcheese made Birmingham after an 11-hour day, at 9pm last night. Emergency oil change on route (including begging oil from a car-servicing garage) and leaving a trail of confused looking people wondering why there was a sudden smog outbreak in the West Mids. Said engine appears to have started doing what the other (identical ST2) does, and diluting its own oil with diesel. It got hot enough to seize, and has melted one of its air cooling pipes. Genius self-destruction. I'm working on the problems today, to try and ensure it can make it back to Lapworth starting tomorrow, so no banter for me. PC PS: Unkie Richard, I still have the crimper on board, and the new ends. If you overtake me on your way back, shout me up and we can do them, or give me a bell when you're passing Lpw.
  22. I was just waving the camera around, avoiding the hard work... PC
  23. You've got a good head start on the CreamCheese. I'm off tomorrow morning, ably abetted by my crewman for the day, Mr Pete. Saturday, I'll try and be off from Bham at an early hour to make progress towards Stourbridge. I'll be crewless but you'll be glad to hear I've got phonenumbers to harass you all for help with the Stourbridge flight... This'll be the longest trip Creamcheese has done since being refloated, just about - I've packed my toolbox... PC Colin is on 01384 395216... PC
