As some of you who were at Beale Park will know I was lucky enough to win the second prize in the A.W.C.C. Raffle which is a years membership at Silver level of River Canal Rescue

As stunned as I was to win it, really I have no use for it ( others may disagree rolleyes.gif)

 

So after a discussion with Trevor Gillan of the A.W.C.C., Stephanie of River Canal Rescue and one of our moderators , I have decided to auction this package to raise funds for the Waterways Recovery Group

 

This membership is for a Silver Package Link and is valid for 1 year from date of registration valued at £110.00, the letter and reference numbers will be supplied to the winner either by a physical handover ( and a pint if possible) or will be sent by Royal Mail Special Deliver to a nominated address

 

Payment can be made in either a Cheque made payable to the Waterways Recovery Group , paypal to me or cash/cheque on handover whatever suits the winner best

 

If you have any further questions please either ask on the open forum or pm me

 

This auction will run until Friday 10th September 2010 @ 9pm

 

Bids can either be made in open form on the forum or alternatively by pm if you wish to do this in private, the winner will not be identified if he/she so requests

 

If the auction raises over £90.00 I will make a personal donation to Dan towards the site costs

 

I thank you for your time reading this and hope that you will join in the spirit of the auction to raise funds for a cause close to my heart

does it cover outboards....

 

IF it does, I'll see you the £90 that gets you to make a donation to Dan

 

7 call-outs in any one year period.

 

Member can register one other user.

 

The member or the registered user must be onboard the vessel during a breakdown.

 

Pick up and drop off service to take the outboard to a specialist for repairs.

 

Conveyance of crew to home address or marina.

 

Maximum of two relays in one year.

There are several bids on pm's who I will reply to tomorrow but

I have received a pm bid for an ammount in excess of 100.00 who I will respond to shortly

I stopped on the way back from Beale Park to offer assistance to a boat that had broken down - the RCR man was already there and was well up to his armpits in the under-back-deck engine 'ole. Although I am not a member myself, I have a lot of respect for the work that those chaps do . . .

I'll send payment via. PayPal to the email you've given me.

 

As I said Chris till I get to know a lot more about 'boaty technical stuff'' I am going to be reliant on others to get me going again if we break down so just as I was about to enroll The Dog House in RCR silver membership anyway, this auction popped up so it was a no brainer really.

RCR are great. I needed a new altonator while at Beale Park - Trevor plus a camera man arrived and I can be seen on some obscure Sky channel on UK Boating! I said very good things about them but they didn't give me a discount - in fact i had to pay £5 more call out fee than those without membership but enjoying their free offer for festival goers, I was a bit upset about that! But I would not go anywhere without their cover so they are forgiven.
