This months edition Page 49 in the report re the Crick Boat show, in the photo that looks like it was taken from the temp footbridge...

Looks like her to me.

(I think in the previous Crick thread Graham you'd said you were moored just up from the footbridge...)

Does this mean we actually have to buy a magazine?

As Richard Fairhurst is a regular contributor to this forum I suggest everyone has a duty to purchase a copy of WW.

Regards

Allan

ps This has nothing to do with him having slipped up and published an email from someone with the same name as me

I am a regular contributoor to this forum.

If everybody sends me £3.80 a month (or whatever the going rate for WW is, these days) I will send them a bunch of adverts and advertorials.

You all have a duty!

A copy of your rate card and your latest ABC figures would be helpful, Carl.

Ads will be free (I'll just cut them out of old WW issues) and I promise never to criticise any new clonecraft, reviewed.....

I've just spotted a flaw, in my plan....

Edited to say: I was going to make a comment about libellous content but I see RLWP is watching...

Do I get a discount if I subscribe for the next 12 months?

Just doing my duty, Sir!

Hey, don't worry about me. You do what you want. I just thought the feedback may be useful to you.

Richard

But like any feedback, hear it, think about it, make your own decision.

I have on my desk a letter from Archant Specialist, publishers of Canal Boat magazine, which was forwarded to me by my bank.

It says 'We are unable to process your order as you have omitted to quote your name and address details. It was therefore necessary to return your order with the kind assistance of your bankers....'

Attached to this was my subscription cheque, and my subscription renewal form, pre-printed, by them, with - wait for it - my name and address.

Ludicrous! However I'm pleased to see that, despite some earlier comments on the validity of certain aspects of the editorial content, you are still at least attempting to subscribe to Canal Boat -- but I'm biased of course!

I still reckon it's the best of the glossies - though gone downhill since your day. As for the content - I never said it was bad; it's great, as long as you (as reader) accept it for what it is, and don't confuse it something like Which?

As a former editor, are we duty bound to buy all the back issues, of CB, for when you were incumbent?

I have a complete set of Waterways World, can I get a discount on a complete set of Canal Boat (and all its forerunners?). And how much would someone be prepared to pay me to take a complete set of Canals and Rivers off them?

You mean you didn't buy them already? Or at least stand in WH Smug and read them.

I'd take them, except that I find it doesn't matter how much "blue" you use, they fail to break down properly, making cassettes very hard to empty.

Now BNP manifestos, on the other hand..............
