yes, I was hoping to see a retiller umbrella and a washing line holdergard. There's something on the Granny Buttons site, an address but no link.

It's an AOL email address so maybe he has no website?

Do you spam all forums or just this one?

Purely as a matter of interest, what's the difference between this thread and the "upholstery" one?

Having spotted a few tiller mounted umbrellas, I really don't get it.

If you are standing in the hatchway, where you should be, you don't move about much, it's just the tiller that does.

Given it's you, rather than the tiller, you are seeking to keep dry, surely something attached to the roof, or slide, that stays in one place as you are steering, makes a whole heap more sense.

You have a Trad-stern-centric viewpoint.

Accepted,

But most of the tiller mounts I have seen have been on trad sterns, I think.

The steerer seems to have to duck to avoid the edge of the brolly as it passes over their head.

You could have chosen the serious boaters model

Given just how incredibly wet it was on our last Blisworth tunnel visit, I don't think I'd have been too embarrassed to wear that.

That said, water came at me hard enough down one of the shafts, it would probably have folded it down, and clamped it to my face.

Can't say I'm bothered really. With my waterproof coat and hat on, and the slide and cabin doors shut it can rain all day long for all I care.

Better than messing about with brollies, bridges, trees and wind

None to me. But I got told I was wrong for saying the other one was spam and that they should p*ss off.

I think this one is spam and they should p*ss off but it appears I'm wrong because no one agrees with me. Like last time.

One reason I let this one go was the initial post said something like.....

"I have been asked to post details of xxxxxx on this forum".

It didn't say by who, but I suppose it's just possible that Jon or one of his helpers asked, (am I naive or what !......)

On the subject, I really also don't understand why forum members involved with boat-building are allowed to say "we have a build slot free in November", or "we have a nice little second-hand boat just come in". Surely it is as much commercial advertising as the upholstery, the umbrella holde, or even the Viagra ?.

It seems to be an area where there is absolutely no consistency whatsoever, TBH.
