The state of the collection is so depressing I just stay away now.

 

There seems to be a complete inability to run an inland waterways museum. They are all complete rubbish, compared to the maritime and other transport museums.

Sadly I have to agree with Carl , I have found my last few visits to Ellesmere Port exceedingly depressing.

 

As the HNBOC are having their own get together at Stoke Bruerne I dont expect there will be more than the regulars at the port this easter.

That sounds worth going to, it's only just up the road for me (or less than a day by boat but it's not historic)

Not sure where going for Easter. Seems to keep changing between the port and Stoke. I assume you are going up? The current thought is that will be taking Cactus up to EP. I understand Lucy is now going too. Any idea who else?

Hey David - the NBT were hoping to bring Nuneaton up to the Port this Easter but it looks like the extended Buckby stoppage has put paid to that - I'm so disapointed it's untrue - but may be able to do it yet!

when do the boats start turning up, our boat is too far away but we may get there(without boat )on friday. will there be any boats there by then?

The boats are normally gathered at the Port by Friday though a few may still be arriving . It is usually a good experience although a bit earlier than normal this year.

We are all planning on meeting in Chester on Thursday evening and travelling down to the port on Friday lunchtime.
