We live in the USA and fly in to the UK twice a year for narrow boating.  Next May after a fortnight on our share boat (out of Cropredy Marina) we would like to spend a day at the Crick Boat Show.

Does anybody have suggestions about where we could spend a night within reach of Crick?  I'm imagining that most accomodations in the village of Crick are already booked up.  Thoughts?

The holiday inn rugby usually has rooms you are looking for holiday inn rugby/Northampton Jct 18. 20/25 minute walk you can book that online today.

The wheatsheef crick is the ideal but probably booked up for 2025s show already.

Watford Gap services has a Days Inn, Daventry has a couple of hotels and Weedon has 3 different ones, the Crossroads, Heart of England, and the Narrowboat

And, that Holiday Inn apparently has an indoor swimming pool, a big selling point for the wife.  Thanks!

Will you have a car ? If so lots of really nice b&bs /guesthouses within a few miles and much nicer than a chain hotel.

No car, I should have mentioned.  Walk or Taxi/Uber for us.  Our attendance at Crick will be Saturday May 24th, with us likely flying home Sunday.

It'll only be a single night's stay, so a chain hotel isn't a horrible thing.  That Holiday Inn isn't near anything, so they've pretty much got us for Sunday breakfast at the hotel restaurant.  We've suffered far worse on travel days.

We have stayed in Crick Holiday Inn with no complaints.  However getting a taxi to Crick then another to an airport (or suitable railway station) will cost you quite a bit.  It may be worth hiring a car for the weekend.

It's not a big or deep pool!

Well, I just made a reservation at the Wheatsheaf for the night.  We'll see how the noise is at the village pub is on the Saturday night of the boat show.  We do prefer historic accommodations.

And we'll take the knock for the taxi to the rail station on Sunday.  Cost of doing business, as they say.  At least we can walk from the inn to the boat show.

Thanks for the perspectives, all.
