max's son
a number of boats went to Bewdley back in the early 80's as a campaign to open the Upper Severn cannot find the pictures.
Graham Davis
To be accurate: It wasn't a Starline boat that got stuck. It was Starline that went out to recover the boat. They'd have a job getting to Llangollen on the Severn; it goes nowhere near it! At one time the Severn was navigable to Pool Quay, which is a couple of miles from Welshpool, and Severn Trows regularly got to Iron Bridge. And while you're at it, put in a link to the Shrewsbury and Newport Canal as well. 1

I went a bit past the end of navigation out of curiosity and there was certainly nothing as clear as that. Looks like they got stuck under the A456 bridge - not bad going really! I didn't take any photos, so here's Lark (temporarily) stuck under Harrington Bridge on the Trent instead. 🙂 Edited May 5, 2023 by Francis Herne

Stopped there because water visibly swirling over obstacles of some kind; need to do some more poking about in the canoe and find a similarly daft crew member or two for contingencies.
