Trip to Gloucester Docks

We are back home now from our 7-week trip which for the largest part was a very good and enjoyable trip.  It took nearly a week longer than we hoped due to a breakdown a the bottom of the Wolverhampton flight. The drive plate decided to give out and we had a wait for a new one to arrive at Oxley Marine. Sadly the stay at the visitor moorings at Autherly Junction was marred by witnessing a horrific and tragic accident which will take some time to get over.

Still, The trip along the Severn was good, and the Sharpness Canal to Sheerness was super.  We very much enjoyed the Avon even with an enforced stay at Pershore due to rising levels. Due to that the weirs were quite fierce when the river was still on orange.  A stay in Stratford for a couple of days was great and the Stratford was as enjoyable as I remembered from 15 or so years ago.

Some boat maintenance to get sorted and we will be ready for our next trip.

Glad you had a good trip, you did well to get to the Medway as well 🤣

Really sad you witnessed such a tragedy though. Hopefully the memories will fade.
