I am going for the Leeds Liverpool - "Clogs & Gansey" would appeal to you because a gansey is the Lancashire equivalent of an Arran sweater, and the clogs just confuse people ... but are very traditional mill attire, so the boatmen wore them too.

I did a week at Rawtenstall in my MAFF days.

 The Commercial Hotel was the only place to stay......

Well I dunno if it helps but this morning, I received a PM from somebody claiming LG had actually bought a boat and pointing my scepticism about this ever happening turning out to be wrong!!

 

Perhaps LG could confirm or deny.....
