According to the towpath telegraph

 

Seems the electrified swing bridge is kaput 

 

crt seen leaving this morning and will be back at 08.00 tomorrow to fix reputedly...

 

a small queue of boats forming and number  winding nearby 

 

no email notification from crt so far.

Its a  strange one, battery powered with a small mains charger. If you only get the average number of boats passing each day its OK but get more the average bridge operations on a bank holiday then they cant keep up.

I do wonder if the pub were involved in preventing CRT from getting a good mains supply. When the bridge fails and CRT are phoned it takes between two and three pints before they turn up :).

This does seem to happen every bank holiday. For boats less than 50ft it's fairly easy to turn around using the slipway

No good though if you are booked to go down into Salthouse Dock!
