Hi all, anyone know where I might be able to source one of these (fitting is 7/8") sorry about the photo quality. Had a look around a few chandlery websites but not found anything similar.

BSP thread sizes have little relationship to the measured size, as you've found out. The 1/2" in 1/2"BSP was originally the inside diameter of the pipe on which the outside of the thread was to go. Not applicable to anything much these days, but BSP has become a near world wide standard for plumbing fittings, so the confusion remains. A chart of nominal BSP size, major diameter across the outside of the threads and the number of thread turns per inch is useful to bookmark. More details here. Everyone loves standards. That's why there are so many of them.
