  5. Hi, Came across this and thought it may be a useful addition to the emergency tool kit. Never used it so no idea how it stands up to vibration, temp changes, damp etc. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Electric-Glue-RC-Car-Truck-Motorcycle-Buggy-Airplane-Xmods-Mini-Z-HO-N-Scale-RTR-/231032402428#ht_5192wt_1811 Cheers HH
  6. How many? How thick? I have a tag end of phosphor bronze 16mm OD (well, 15.8) which I'll happily put a 10mm hole through & you can slice your own off or if you don't have the necessary I'll even cut 'em up for you. Cheers HH

  8. Hi, Thanks for the thought. I'm a life member of the Anson but not sure of when I'll be there again. Plus, whilst I'm in the clearout mood I need to move the mags fairly smartly or I'll finish up just putting them back in store. Thanks again HH
  9. Jet stream looks to be staying north of UK for some days yet so may have to enjoy the "views" for a little longer. http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=jetstream;sess= Press animate to see the future trend. Cheers HH
  10. Hi, This is, I suppose, a bit off topic but I have a number of Stationary Engine magazines to dispose of - running out of space!. I have 6 months of 2004, all of 2005; 06 ; 07 ; 08 ; 09 and 2010. Free to a good home but will need to be collected somehow from Chesterfield area. May be of interest to the vintage engine types or just for cruising through whilst sat on the deck in the sun. Cheers HH
  11. " out to the middle" Disputes over where exactly the middle is was the origin of the word rival ( Latin rivalis - one who shares the same brook) Today's piece of useless information. Cheers HH
  12. Hi, I struggled for a couple of years to eliminate/control a reddish 'growth' around the kitchen sink area. Eventually decided to climb into the 21st century and bought some Dettol anti-bacterial surface cleanser - magic, all gone after a couple or three sprays over a week, give it a spray about once a week now & no recurrence. Cheers HH
  13. Hi Thanks for your reply. I quite understand. Your comments prompted me to see if I could trace the publication date through the ISBN number ;- Guide 1 1972 Guides 3 &4 'not found invalid ISBN number'. Well that's the number in the Guide! Also, my Nicholson's Real Ale Guide turns out to be published1976 Lots of pubs that have gone and ales/brewers that are a distant memory! I'm sure things were simpler 37 years ago or is that just a memory thing? "Ah, yes I remember it well" Cheers HH
  14. Hi Does he actually want them? If so happy to try to sort something out. PM sent. Cheers HH
  15. Hi, Vaguely remembering my microbiology it could be serratia marcesens - have a look at Wikipedia. A red coloured organism considered to be the source of 'blood' flowing from religous icons.. Try growing it on a slice of bread, just smear some on (only a small blob) & keep moist. Cheers MEG
  16. I have Guides 1;3;4 bought in the late 70's (can't see a publication date) in good nick which you can have foc if you can arrange collection Sheffield/Chesterfield area. Sadly, I can't ever see me using them again. Cheers HH
  17. Hi All, I notice a number of folk seeking balast. Whilst at the Barrow Hill round house (near Staveley) at the weekend I saw a work party replacing worn rails, I understand these are to be cut up and scrapped. I will leave anyone interested to make their own contact. HH
  18. Yes, we used to say a norange (cf the Spanish) and a napron, over time this became transmogrified to an orange and an apron. Perhaps one day we shall say a nydraulic. Cheers HH
