  1. Interesting. I put my condensation down to having a large front well deck. However, have you got insualtion between the space you photograph and the cabin? My boat rarely gets up to 20deg.
  2. Take a saucepan lid and spoon down there with you and bang that when you want her to switch it off!
  3. I have quite a lot of condensation under my front well deck. The space is large (larger well deck than most boats) and I have an uninsulated water thank. The condensation that forms under there is quite something and I am watching this thread with interest. In terms of the mould...that is one hell of lot of mould. I really wouldn't expect to see that in any space I was expected to live in. I may have misunderstood, but do you actually have air vents In your doors that let air from the outside to the inside and not behind a lining? The mould is something else. I can't be any use other than to be up in arms on your behalf. It is NOT acceptable on any level! P.s. If it was rain water coming down the cables then the drops of water on the steel forward of that would not be there. I have been amazed at the amount of condensation that can form where insulation is absent.
  4. I think it is a good idea. Having been in a NB crash and seeing the devastation that an impact can have on the interior of a boat, having the stove roll over and the coals fall out would be awkward. However, to suppose that a stove with a flue up through the roof is not deemed as secure is another matter. I also think it is a good idea to have CO monitors in the BSS but they are not. Not sure if it is a big job. I didn't find installing the stove in the first place a big job; it just takes time.
  5. I expect so! Pingu and Keeping Up tend to stick to their schedules and will, no doubt, post here if there are any changes. A laid back 'turn up' affair such as this one requires very little organisation which is probably why the thread is not buzzing. It is in my diary and I certainly hope to go. If I drink a pint on my own I won't be heart broken - it is a great place to go for a wonder and a relax anyway.
  6. Did you get to the bottom of the problem?!

  9. If the flu and the baffle plate are clear then that is gooood - but it seems strange it is coming out the top vent. Have you put a torch down the flu to make sure there isn't clinker or anything? Opening the door slowly helps stop the smoke billowing in to the room.
  10. There was me thinking it was me. Blah.

  16. I want one. Whether I would buy one is a different matter.
  17. What is it that makes him an idiot? Edit to be clearer....The marinised parts are to get over the 'wheel' (or lack of) situation but the engines seem the same to me...especially my friends Ford Diesel that he got out of a car and put in his boat.

    Dodgy Coal?

Gaffa tape. Edit...sue on no problem knows all a out cratch covers and repairs...if my memory serves me right.
  19. I have some string strung along the boat and I hang things off it. They dry quick. I have a small octopus whatsit for hanging small things off and I hang that on a hook near the fire. Shirts get put on coat hangers and hung from various places. Works a treat.
