  1. I don't want to alter the factory setting, but since I took half of the unit apart, I'm thinking that I might have undone the air regulating screw when dismantling it (to access the burner etc) as the manual doesn't specify which screw that is.
  2. Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction. I'm carrying out some repairs to my Webasto Thermo 90st (new burner tube, new burner + glow pin and flame failure sensor). Reading the workshop manual I found the following: SETTING THE CO2 CONTENT It is permitted for the factory-set combustion air quantity to be modified. This is achieved by turning the air regulating screw. Setting procedure Turning clockwise: CO2 value is reduced (let the heater run for about 5 minutes before measuring). Rough setting: Screw the adjusting screw fully in clockwise and then one turn back. Now, i'm having difficulties finding (in the workshop manual) where the "air regulating screw" is, but considering that I'm removing the burner, it might be on of the screws that I had to undo, so I just want to make sure that I can adjust it properly when putting the heater back together. I don't have means of connecting the diagnostic software to the unit, so the "rough setting" will have to do. Thanks in advance for your help!
  3. Hi Tony, Thanks for your reply. The exhaust is not blocked. It seems that the coolant is boiling as the pipes are making weird noises and you can see steam after removing one of the hoses from the unit. EDT. I will investigate the exhaust though, might be worth removing the silencer.
  4. Hi there, I’ve got bit of an issue with my Webasto Heater. It’s a 90 St version (9.1Kw). It’s been working well for years and I never had any issues with it. I always made sure it was working hard, I would only switch it on for 1,5 – 2 hrs max at the time, so I doubt it was ever going to “low flame” setting. Since last week it’s been switching off due to overheating. I vented the system, flushed it, vented again (numerus times) but still the same things happen. I checked the water pump, it seems all good, there’s a good flow and I cannot see anything wrong with it. What basically happens is Webasto runs for 20-25 minutes (sometimes longer, sometimes shorter) and then it seems that the coolant after the unit boils and the unit switches itself off. I think that it generally heats up the entire systems quicker than usual, it is quite of a big system, 6 rads, towel rail and a calorifier – give or take 100 lts of coolant so it was normally taking around 1hr or more for the rads to get proper warm, this now happens after 20 -25 mins. Any help will be appreciated!
  5. Perfect! Thanks. I will get in touch with him, South Island Marina it's actually no too far from me.
  6. Thanks Tonka, they are out of stock, I will check if they expect to have them any time soon.
  7. Thanks everyone! I will possibly try to have one made.
  8. hi everyone, I'm trying to find long Double skin chimney, ideally over 28" (28" would do too). The longest I was able to find were 24" but that would keep my flue just around 2m altogether, I would prefer it a little bit longer. Could anyone recommend a chandlery which stocks these? Thanks!
  9. Thanks everyone for your help. The boat is actually not for me, couple of mates are looking into it and they would possibly transport her (by road) down south if they decide to go ahead.
  10. Thanks everyone. Yeah, the headroom worries me the most. If it's really 1.8m then the possible future resale options will be quite limited. Regarding the wet/dry exhaust, the reason i was wondering about that is the strainer in the engine compartment...
  11. Hi everyone! I was wondering if you guys could help. Couple of mates of mine are looking for a widebeam to live on as continues cruisers and they found this: http://www.boatshed.com/wide_beam_58ft_trad_stern-boat-225400.html The boat doesn’t seem too bad in my opinion, if the owner was (as they reckon) narrowboat fitter then it’s only a good thing. There are definitely good things about it, good size water tank (holding tank is not bad, but it’s not massive either) combination of stove + webasto, bow thruster etc. and it generally looks looked after. On the contrary, there also things that are not so great. The headroom in the ad says 1.8m, (which is a bit low), on the other hand it’s a smaller area to warm up in the winter. The engine also seems a little bit under powered (50hp) but they are planning to stays on canals only so I suppose it should be ok. There isn’t that much info in the ad so I thought it would be good to ask the owner the following questions: - when was she out of the water last? - is there a survey available? - is there any service history available? - what kind of insulation was used? - what type of blacking is the hull protected with (2 pack/bitumen)? - is the engine dry or wet exhaust? - what is the capacity of the batteries? Anything else you guys reckon would be worth asking? What do you think about the boat in general? Thanks!
  12. Yep, we had exactly the same experience. Even though we had everything in writing it didn't mater for Bluewater. Also, it's funny how quite a few members of the forum were willing to take BW side without knowing any facts.
