  1. Well, if someone comes along and offers the asking price then so be it. However, it might still be there in a couple of months time and if you still haven’t found your dream boat... Did you check out those other two that someone suggested?
  2. Except that’s not what they said... “hot water from bk boiler and immersion only“ Immersion to me means immersion heater.
  3. The pdf (now I’ve read it) states engine heating also. I’d have been surprised if it wasn’t.
  4. Ahh... so I guess it has a Kabola then... My excuse is that the pictures are too small on my phone
  5. How much does a stove cost for purchase and installation? I note that this boat has no heating at all.
  6. But all that white on the side of the hull wants painting a dark colour anyway, so they’ll soon disappear.
  7. Tony, note that anyone accessing with a mobile device (me for instance) doesn’t see signatures.
  8. No he didn’t. He made some egg & cress finger rolls instead because he just fancied some and the cress needed using up.
  9. Thank you. Two pieces please. One with Marmite and the other with marmalade.
  10. I don’t talk to eeeeeeejits. Nor muppets, come to think of it...
  11. You’ll get loads of replies with details & suggestions but I’ll make one important point at this stage. A mooring with shade will be useless for solar generation. Can any trees on the south elevation be pruned back? If not then the entire venture is doomed to failure imho.
  12. That little model galleon is still being tracked, now off the coast of South America: https://yb.tl/a The story for anyone who doesn’t know: https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.express.co.uk/news/uk/948594/model-boat-toy-guyana-atlantic-ocean-stena-carron-ship-ferguson-family-ollie-harry/amp
  13. Maybe he didn’t see it... He might have been colour blind to red
  14. But ‘paraffin’ stinks... of paraffin. ‘Lamp oil’ doesn’t.
  15. Fixed link... http://www.cylex-uk.co.uk/reviews/viewcompanywebsite.aspx?firmaName=aps+advance+product+services+ltd&companyId=23035128 They’d definitely be worth a shot.
  16. Typo here, Tony. You meant “hold in coil” in that paragraph.
  17. This stuff’s easy to apply. I used it on some steps with good results: https://www.axminster.co.uk/osmo-polyx-hard-wax-oil-ax944315
  18. Dunno, do they regularly get wet? I remade the frames for WotEver, which did tend to get wet with condensation. I only used soft wood but gave it a first coat of Ronseal varnish thinned down with white spirit. Gently rubbed it down when it was dry and gave it a few coats thereafter with un-thinned varnish, very gently rubbing down between coats. They looked like glass when I’d finished and it really didn’t take long.
  19. Many times. It’s unsuitable for anything that’ll regularly get wet. Many of those panelled Victorian rooms with very dark oak are that colour as a result of wax finishes. Smoke from coal fires plus dust settles on the wood and sticks to the wax. Another coat of wax seals it in. Keep doing that for 100 years and you end up with that dark colour. Scrub the wood with white spirit and it comes back a lovely golden colour like it should be.
