  1. The spec states that it draws 1-1.5A at 110-230V AC and that no DC option is available, which doesn’t help us much. Does this have a model number, or can you give us a link to it?
  2. This 26” one gets good reviews... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08GKKB2TJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_Iz7wFbKCJ1J66
  3. Very interesting, thanks for sharing Let's see how quickly (or not) production scales up.
  4. Try these guys: https://www.sealsdirect.co.uk/shopping.asp?intDepartmentId=72#121
  5. If no-one comes along quickly, this thread might get you into the ball park as the Yanks might say...
  6. The ‘secret’ to soldering is to have the cable and whatever you’re soldering it to scrupulously clean. Then wet the iron with a little solder (because it helps to transfer the heat), apply the iron to the wire and then apply the multi core solder to the wire. If everything is hot enough you’ll see the solder flow into the strands and around the terminal (or whatever). Remove the iron as soon as that happens and wait a while as it all cools. Don’t blow on it or do anything else that might speed up the cooling. Two more dont’s... Don’t ‘carry’ the solder to the joint on the iron. The flux will burn off and it won’t flow. Don’t melt the solder on the iron, melt it on the joint (same reason). A little practise and you’ll soon get it.

  8. You need Google Marine for that. It’s not been launched yet but don’t think some bright young thing hasn't thought of it...
  9. That looks like a vehicle type exhaust to me. The marine ones look like this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/124077311105
  10. I never knew that. I thought a fan oven merely stirred the air to ensure it was evenly distributed. Why does it pull in ambient air, isn’t that wasteful?
  11. By discharging them too low or by overcharging them. You only have to do either of those once.
  12. The extra demand will only be there if you use it. If you take more out of the batteries just because you can then obviously you have to put more in. If you don't take any more out of them then you'll be treating them more gently than the smaller capacity batteries. Note that in addition to the extra 5mm in length, the battery posts are also in a different position.
  13. The post above reinforces my point. The flat Marconi battery, despite careful and time consuming charging never recovered beyond 50% due, partially, to hardened lead sulphate that could not be converted back. I’m sure it also suffered from some plate erosion too.
  14. A very misleading statement. All of the time that a lead acid battery is sat at less than 100% SoC it is growing lead sulphate crystals. The longer it remains below 100% the larger and harder those crystals become. Subsequently charging the battery most certainly does not ‘readily reverse’ that sulphation. In fact, the last little bit of sulphate can be very stubborn indeed and extremely difficult to remove. Battery University is therefore correct in its statement. A 12V LA battery does not need to be as low as 10.5V to create hardened lead sulphate, it will do it at any voltage below about 12.4V if given sufficient time.
  15. It’s all completely irrelevant anyhow. If it works with the white and brown wires the ‘wrong’ way around, so what? Leave them like that and move on.
  16. The features list states it will start on gas, plus it reinforces my point about low oil level. Dual Fuel - Operate your 2000-watt portable generator right out of the box on either petrol or propane, plus the unit holds 378ml of oil (recommended 10W-30) and has a low oil shut-off sensor.
  17. You can’t include the accessory’s cable in volt drop calculations so it’s a one-way distance of 4m, or two-way of 8m. Either way, at 11A the drop would be around 0.6V as I wrote.
  18. That would still only be around half a volt drop down 4m of 2.5.
  19. Is the oil level absolutely up to the filler? Try tipping the genny backwards slightly to get just a little more oil in. The automatic oil level cutouts on gennies are very sensitive. Ensure it’s sitting on level ground too, for the same reason.
  20. I wondered what “two step automatic charge process with Led charge indicator” meant? I guessed it meant ‘drops down to float’ but maybe not. So what’s the microprocessor control do, I wonder.
