They do the complete build and fitout, to the Customers specification, and certainly provide good value for money. I had my cruiser stern built & fitted out by them.. Currently 68p per litre at JD Narrowboats (Dobsons Yard), They will let you declare your % split even if it is 100% !

Hi Matty, If your friend calls Darron Howell at JD Narrowboats of Shardlow (formerly Stone) they will carry out the work very quickly, I have just spoken to Darron and he is happy to call over to Aston Marina next week! Hello there Jude! I was over at Shardlow yesterday, I saw your boat in the water and the chap was there applying the spray foam, your boat looks very impressive moored alongside mine which is back for some additional work including a bookcase and some more shelving. Darron was telling me that they have an order book that is full until April 2010!! That certainly doesn't appear to be how the boatbuilding industry is doing as a whole at the moment.

I think they had the roof suspended on chains, they also used their forklift truck to hold the roof while they put the sides on. I agree, I felt it looks better in one transition rather than lots of zooming in/out, flipping and so on.

Just watching our local news (BBC Midlands Today) and there was a story about the Museum at Gloucester Docks. Hi All, My first attempt at using you tube as a way of showing photographs of my boat! Although the pictures fly by (I set the pictures to last the length of the music used in the slideshow), I think you will get to understand it. Chris, First of all, I am truly sorry that you have had to go through such an experience, anyone of us new to narrow boats and the dream that is hoped for by having our own boat can easily be deceived by people that have got away with criminal activity for many years. We are all wary of Double Glazing salesmen, People that can fix a roof or Tarmac a driveway, I guess we don't expect it from the canal boat builders! Given the amount of "builders" that go out of business and then re-appear using another name, it is clear that they are immune to the heartache, pain and absolute devastation that they cause through their actions, on decent people. It's about time that Forums (where prospective buyers will naturally go for advice) got their act together and thought of a way to help people, before they (the decent people looking to get onto the waterways) get themselves into situations that end up causing untold damage. We have heard it many times before why the forum "Can't get involved, because it may bring a Lawsuit", That's ok, Let's do something constructive... Why not have a thread/page/forum for "recommended boat builders, suppliers", decent people that can provide a decent SERVICE" ? There are many people on here that can give good, honest constructive advice, let them be heard and I'm sure that the unscrupulous merchants won't last 5 minutes if they appear on this forum! Over to you all now, I can't wait to see how newbies to the waterways might get some help from the experienced members of this excellent Forum.
