  1. My OH say's she had one of the first ' twin tubs' on a boat. Two buckets
  2. That's what we've got on our new boat and passes all regs. Bedhead to the front bulkhead plus a side door access in the cabin. A lovely 5ft wide bed for relaxing and romping. It's great
  3. I think think this is the one we are currently using , can't be sure as we're at home and it's on the boat. DRILL PUMP When some suppliers say unsuitable for fuel I guess the suppliers are covering themselves against people using for petrol. Perhaps if there were metal moving parts in the pump , spark and boom when used in petrol. We have actually used many makes of 'drill' pumps for diesel over the years. Never had any problem and still here to tell the tale
  4. We use a standard cheap 'drill' pump which has no problem pumping diesel. To pump from the diesel tank we connect a length of 1/2" hose to the pump and then a length of copper plumbing pipe (18" approx) to that hose using a jubilee clip. This length of copper pipe ensures you are pumping from the very bottom of the tank without it plastic hose can curl up etc whilst pumping.. We normally pump into a clear plastic container ( 2ltr soda bottle) allowing the contents to settle and see if any water etc.
  5. I'll try phoning DB Darke on Monday and see if they can tell me the current position. I was told last year, by a Floating Homes director, that Darke no longer had any connection with them. But, it's worth a telephone call to find out; thanks.
  6. Anybody know if they've gone bust or still trading?
  7. Have you thought of using gloss paint and sprinkle sugar on it ? After a little use the sugar will dissolve, leaving a nice rough surface. I think this has a better appearance whilst being worn as the peak of the sand grains don't show thru and it's easy to prepare for next time.
  8. Thanks everybody for your quick and helpful replies. I'm signing up for their 'Silver service' ; thankyou.
  9. I've done a forum search - the last topic I can find about RCR is April 2006. Can any members give me current feedback regarding the RCR service ? Thankyou.
  10. Posted in the wrong place - sorry
  11. If the domain is suspended and needs renewal how can this be ? See the post from Boatless following your own post.
  12. When I try to connect to the Floating Homes web-site http://www.floating-homes.co.uk/ I get the error message :- "www.floating-homes.co.uk could not be found. Please check the name and try again." Up to a few weeks ago it was possible to connect to their web site via that address.. Does anybody know if they have gone bust or ceased trading? They owe me money, (Jon this is contained in correspondence sent to me where F/H promise to pay to me " as agreed", therefore provable ). I have sent a 'Final Demand ' letter. If they are bust there's no point in me pursuing them. If they have ceased trading and are solvent I will obviously pursue my money. Trying to contact Floating Homes - unless ordering a boat, has always been difficult. Any information regarding them will be appreciated.
  13. I've had 2 or 3 messages from spammers in my PM box. Is there is some way they are sending a PM to all members with one click? If this was made impossible I'm sure they wouldn't spend the time to PM every member individually.
  14. I'm thinking we may need to sell our boat and wondering if any body can recommend a good broker who offers free moorings whilst the boat is listed with him? Preferably in the Midlands area.
