  1. Reminds me of the Sargent bawling out the sqaddy 'I didn't see you at the camouflage exercises this morning Jones' - 'Arhh - thank you Sargent'. Alex
  2. Make sure the shower pump is not blocked with hair, you will have to dismantle the pump head. Fit a strainer in the plug hole to catch the hair. Alex
  3. We were approaching the lock off the Trent at Trent Bridge, into the Nottingham cut, and as there was a NB already on the landing stage and the lock gate were open, I went straight in. The other boat owner came storming up the steps and said - 'I cant believe you stole my lock'. I quietly explained it was a double lock and he would also fit in it! Alex

  5. Thanks for that it seems perfect - but I only need 2/3 metres Alex
  6. Hey up you lot What would you recommend as the strongest glue, preferably aerosol, for sticking vinyl to metal? Alex
  7. Definitely single locks. You've perhaps not come across some of the big double lock when even the both of you cant shut the bloody gates! Single locks are fun, you can also hop across the bottom gates if you're brave/fit enough. Your partner can be sent of to get the next lock ready and leave you close the gates, going up or down a flight. We must be Olympic contender on some of the lock flights. There are only the two of us 95% of the time. But don't get giddy - locks are still the most dangerous aspect of narrow boating Alex

  11. The second filter bolted to the block is (should be) much finer than the pre filter and might be blocked again. Alec
  12. Hi If you take it out there will probably a part number on it, or take to your local Halfords or Partco. They will match it with some thing Alex
  13. My H100 on cruiser stern. It was piece of 4" angle rolled around to fit and then plated over Alex
  14. I wonder if they could have had any thing around the prop? It's always good practice to check down the weed hatch before setting of on these long river trips. Alex

  19. The best thing about eBay is getting rid of unwanted goods - furniture/bathroom suite/ward robes/fireplaces etc etc. The grief of taking large items to a dump it site is getting worse - NO VANS ALLOWED! I have put all these items and more on eBay with .99p start and they have all sold. The most rewarding is the fact they are collected and taken away for FREE! Alex
  20. I have no problem but have look at the 'settings' on the right hand side Alex
  21. Ikea is your friend http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/categories/departments/bathroom/20719/ Alex
  22. Very nice to deal with and great service. Although the sofa was very firm to begin with, it had become very squishy and comfortable after a few months use. And too soft a few months later? Ikea is your friend http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/categories/departments/living_room/10663/ Alex
  23. If its the one with the hours counter, the last time I priced one up it about £180 - ouch Alex
