  1. The "charging about" is the bit I most enjoyed. A hark back to times when most kids did this without being mollycoddled, surrounded by warning signs or delivered to their every destination in sealed Chelsea Tractors. It is a gem. Rewatching it again.
  2. I redid my bilge a few years back - two coats no rub down - it's really held up well. The first bilge paint flaked off.
  3. Lots of things to go wrong on a Fisher Panda (or any packaged genny). Have a look at their facebook page. I have one (Panda) for just charging batteries. I've got an issue that cannot be resolved even via weeks of tecky exchange with their engineering lead and exchanging control panel. If I had the nouce/funds/energy/time I would remove the Panda and install a single pot Lister or Gardner to act as the genny to battery charge.
  4. I have a load spare so no probs. I use it to keep rabbits out of my veggie area.
  5. Thank you Jen in "Wales" sic
  6. Looking for a cheap-ish way of making this decking non lethal re slipping when wet and has goose poo on it - any advice appreciated.
  7. Hi guys, Need new cratch cover - can you recommend someone near Stoke (Cheddleton) nearer Leek actually.
  8. Well done Cart + contractors.
  9. Not the same but my bit of river here has a lot of butterbur growing on it. I thought it was gunnera but it's not. The adjacent flood meadow is full of "normal" hogweed. Gunnera
  10. If you do the Caldon the Black Lion in Cheddleton is better than the Black Lion in Consall. The food in The Flintlock Cheddleton (canalside) is really excellent - but you will pay a lot for it (it's worth it). 7 course meals.
  11. It was a stuttering journey - got onto Thames immediate issue with strong flow. The river went to red boards just as the boat got on it (it stated yellow just before leaving the Wey). Could not make the turn to Shepperton and had to go with the flow and take refuge in Sunbury Lock for 6 days until the river calmed down. The lockie was good - not charging for mooring or starting the visitors licence until off flood alert. I think they board status is only updated twice per day not real time anymore according to towpath talk.
  12. Funnily enough the nearest canal to me is the Uttoxeter Canal at Alton - has no water tho! (400 yards away). Although here we have 540 yards of the Churnet (500 yards away) - it's non navigable.
  13. Left Pyford Marina and now back moored 220 miles further north on a more intimate offside mooring. Happy days. Not a huge fan of marinas although Pyrford is a very pretty one.
  14. Always very windy there in my experience.
  15. I guess you need a boat as no road access.
  16. Does seem "well over the top" Mtb. Think they have this "one client in mind" when they set the price.
  17. I have this on DVD and enjoyed it a lot.
  18. Now that's a fact! 😄 If you look at the gang, they are almost wearing a uniform.
