  4. Yes, we noticed that as we passed through Tividale, loads of offside mooring rings but it looked very shallow (isn't the water clear) so we moored in the Black Country Museum. The coots, moorhens and Canada Geese were all doing their Pilates as we went through. Interestingly I have now found out why moorhens have such big feet, have you seen a couple of them scrapping? it's like watching waterborne fighting cocks

  6. Came down the Wolverhampton 21 today in what matches my definition of 'beautiful weather', overcast at first but sunnier the further down we got. It took us the usual 4 hours despite all of the locks being set against us and of course the obligatory trip down the weed hatch after lock 19 to clear out a load of plastic. There was no problem on lock 20 although we were warned at the top by a volunteer that some of the pounds were dry and he was running some water down. I think he got a bit too enthusiastic on that front because after lock 13 every time we emptied the lock we flooded the towpath and after one of the locks where you immediately pass under a bridge, the level was so high that it knocked my chimney off and caught my roof box! Fortunately no damage done.

  11. Dunno, just for a bit of fun when I came out of Brum on Monday we went round both the Icknield and Soho loops. Didn't see anything significant, most of the diesel spill seemed to be on the New Main Line.

  14. On the right day you will do a roaring trade, I think the 'Rum Wench' did quite a good trade here as well.(https://thepirateboat.co.uk/faq/)
  15. We've moored here a few times and it is fine. During the week it is peaceful at night and the pub is OK (Greene King). I think people come out here mainly for the shopping (Sainsburys and Aldi) tenpin bowling and the cinema, although today I've also used the swimming pool. The CRT website says that the time limit on the mooring is 2 days, but there are no signs here confirming that. I don't know what you sell but it's probably a good site to trade, we shuffled around a couple of years back to make space for the 'Rum Wench' boat as she was quite keen to moor to trade here.
