  5. I suppose if you really wanted to carry on in your present circumstances then you could change the name of the boat, remove the old index plates and licence. make an application for a new licence and plates for a boat newly registered, oh yes youd have to get a new bss with the new name I guess and inform your insurance co that youve changed the boat name and a use a different address. Paint the boat black? then go through it all again in 12 months time. or you could get a home mooring or go boating

  19. I was moored on the Tidal Medway for several years and both my boats discharged direct into the river as did/do most of the residential barges and boats up as far as Cuxton. Was also moored at Hoo on a barge for a short time which also had a straight through sea toilet, you could see the river bed under the toilet. As the tide came in a very unpleasant scum would emerge from under the barges as they rose with the tide. We eventually fitted a very large holding tank on the barge when we moved to Poplar Dock to conform to BW regs. I cant see it being too long before some form of regulation is introduced on tidal sections which will bring on the pains for many older boats but no problem for the newer ones most of which are already fitted with holding tanks.
  20. these chaps were on the Slough Arm last year during the dredging. The water was constantly tested and about half way through the dredging it was declared unhealthy for fish so these guys were employed to remove as much stock as they could and relocate them down towards Cowley. Once drdging was complete they were back returning stock. seemed friendly enough when I spoke with them at Highline
