  2. Those moorings outside the marina on the grassy bank have always been 14 day CRT visitor moorings so I'm confused when you say you are on the best moorings in the marina, (which they aren't by the way because I've got them). ?. If times were normal those moorings would be chock-a-block with visiting boats and would be monitored by CRT licence checkers. I can't see how the marina would get to take them on because the amount of visitor moorings in Goole are inadequate at the best of times. It would be making life especially difficult for boats coming off the tidal if there were even less visitor moorings.
  3. Do those moorings belong to the marina now?

  6. I'm sure the office would help sort this out if told.
  7. I am in the same marina, as pictured. At a guess there must be about 200 boats of all descriptions and maybe about 20/25 liveaboard boats scattered around. I know LadyG and almost every other liveaboard. This is the best marina i have ever moored in and I've been in a few. Of course as in all marinas there can be strife between neighbours but things have got pretty bad in that particular corner of the yard. It seems to me they never really hit it off from the start, and has continued to deteriorate. It could have been so different. Yes there are one or two rough diamonds as in any yard but believe me they would do anything for you if in a fix, if approached in the right way. I personally haven't seen any particular contravention of the social distancing rules but that doesn't mean it hasn't happened, and in fact I did notice how they were ' socializing at a distance' in the sunshine yesterday. Narrowboats moored stern to bank and only 2ft between means that things could be awkward at times especially at this time. The owner of the Marina would I'm certain step in if approached and try and move you to another berth, perhaps at the office end of the yard. I'm sure someone would do a swap, you've got a good mooring there. As for leaving the yard due to all this, wouldn't you be acting a little prematurely. Are you ready to go "self sufficient" ? Anyway I've rambled on long enough. My advice, chill, at least for now. If you don't you will go bananas in a marina surrounded by people you're not getting on with.
  8. I assume you don't like the chromed brass gallery/fiddle rail brackets i gave you Mrs. ? There is an oak place up on Liddice Road in Goole. I think it's called English Hardwoods, maybe save yourself a trip?

  10. Slide the clamp back, use drill bits to test the fit along the prop shaft into the gland. You could use pencils, pens, or crayons to give you an idea and measure them.
  11. Some marinas grade their moorings ie Gold, Silver, and Bronze, and charge different rates accordingly. Some might charge extra if you're a liveboard.
  12. A boat caught up in a lock and listing?
  13. Just watched it all, very interesting. Thanks for putting it on.
  14. Bosch T123X Jigsaw blades are the best steel cutting blades i have ever used.
  15. Looking at your photos surely you have ample room for a shower, basin and toilet, without going over your porthole. Could you show us a drawing with measurements of the space you are struggling with?
  16. Hello rocketman, As others have mentioned, pictures help enormously. Old Dutch barges can have 'quaint' fixtures and fittings not often seen by many boaters on these waterways. Even on my modern boat i have 2 'greasers', 1 for the stern gland, and another for a gland on my steering. If you haven't already, consider joining the DBA, the Dutch Barge Association. There is a wealth of knowledge on there. I wish you were closer, I would have nipped over for a gander. I too am on Thunderboat, and also not a troll. Joe
  17. My mooring is opposite, I'll watch out for you. Brodsworth is moored on the canal at Viking Marina.
  18. C. Campling (Goole) Ltd, is now Viking Marine (Goole) Ltd.
  19. First two pictures of Exol Pride in the New Junction, the third of Pride penning out of Ocean Lock (Goole) onto the River Ouse.
  20. I would be concerned if the oil pressure with SAE30 was too low at idle but as it is in the high 30s I'm not. It goes up into the 40s with increased rpm so no worries on my part. With multigrade oil the pressure is pretty constant at any revs. When doing oil changes in the future I may alternate between 30 grade and multigrade. Sort of using 30 grade as a flushing oil. What do you think?
