  1. how brill there are pubs welcoming our 4 legged friends..though I still haven't found the 'one' yet that will wander down next bit of life road with me. Molly proving hard act to follow.
  2. Matty has put into words what I believe many of us feel. Canal world became my window to the world during a time when I chose not to interact with people. I very much enjoyed the banter of the threads. My confidence increased but I now feel a bit lost I still lurk but feel I have to be careful with what I post. I do not wish to offend nor be consigned to a scrapheap. Through circumstances that are deeply personal my boat sadly had to go and pre the culling here I would have been able to share what occurred with a forum that felt like family. Now i trudge through treacle finding my way hoping that one day I will get another.
  3. so much so I rang up little sis to tell her and now she believes...hmmm not gonna say owt to her cos she'll think Im stupid.
  4. And there was me believing it...
  5. I insured with craft insure.. i never had to claim but they were always very helpful when i rang..and didn't have to jump through hoops to talk to people either
  6. I think these sticky thingys could be just what I need in Horror House..Ive made few holes in plasterboard attempting to hang stuff and then filled them in and painted so can now have another go.
  7. I remember being stung once as a child by a wasp winterising on curtains in our bedroom..saw dark shape and touched it
  8. I used Barby and it seemed OK though does get very muddy there...would just say watch which mooring if u go for Barby as some are very tight to get out and its somewhat in the open so need to factor in the winds.
  9. Did it download ok?...Ive not updated on that computer cos little sis's computer had hissy fit and got stuck in a loop due to interrupted internet signal and computer nerd had to ride out on his trusty steed to rescue her.....and with my history in Horror House I just don't think I'll risk anything house can mess up.
  10. I got a use... Provide more challenging clay pigeon for shooters to practise their aim on Ah and wot about a means to dry washing..t'other half could hang small items on to be blown dry

  14. Hi Max, don't worry bout hitting stuff with hammer..it's a girly thing to give time to think...and anyway means u are having a go. Tools are good...I managed to collect quite a few over the years and most have been used even if not for their intended use. You are doing brilliantly...carry on..
  15. Thats a lovely looking boat, enjoy your time on her.
  16. I had Finish Laphund who was just the right size she could get on and off the boat without assistance and she would sit neath tiller near me. Also took small terrier that didn't like boat. If dogs enjoys boating guess unless to big no problems
  17. my youngest son donated his thermals to one in need...me..they are not fetching and kinda swamp the figure but they are warm. They were quite expensive as the young don't do cheap...consider getting mens top.
  18. Its probably the busiest towpath Ive wandered down..rat run for hordes cyclists especially work to n fro times
  19. Ive walked that stretch many times..theres a bell/horn to sound by cyclists before you go under most bridges and I didn't hear that and also its very narrow towpath under them their bridges and also I cares not what any code dictates when I walk that path I don't go waters edge side. If cyclists wanna ride fast then they can take the risk of a dunk in that loverly canal. Sense n reason really..
  20. Brilliant..good luck with the sale
  21. Selling a boat is not always for the reason that a canal boat life aint for a person. Life events dictate choices and sadly decisions made due to this. Get your boat and enjoy every minute of it whilst you can...none of us know what lurks around that corner...
  22. Just happened to me..and I rang them up and got told they'd tell me next time..what ever... Im getting out of 3 as soon as I can
  23. Good luck and take time for yourself as well as all the Charity work. Patty
  24. I used to love the tap tap of quacky ducks..gives nice cozy feeling when snuggled in duvet.
  25. I have a favourite fleecy rather scruffy long sleeved top that my mum liked it dates back at least 20 years..I think thats why i still wear it..its part of my comfort zone when everything goes wrong.
