  1. I do believe there was the usual sarcasm of rivets thrown in too? Which I know is all in fun, hence emoticons?
  2. That's my boat your poking fun at Alan..??Although not real hot worked, every hole was drilled to accept the rivets and I had them welded up on inside..half a job, surely????
  3. Tom and Bex..I think you could have solved it!!..I cant check till next at boat, but LED's do touch celotex insulation... By'eck...I have done that and all three negatives in turn from three different light circuits create problem... Thanks for ideas to check
  4. Today I have individually disconnected each circuit in turn...I have three lighting circuits, all run in 2.5mm tri rated, these three circuits have fourteen LED's in total running on them and all three negatives are causing the negative path!!..any ideas other than binning the LED's!!..they were bought from Midland Chandlers at £12ish each..cheers
  5. Paul..cheers..only thing I can think of that may have an internal negative link would be the mcs fuel sender..as above I will disconnect each negative in turn from terminal block MtB...it sure is spooky
  6. Dave..starter and domestic positives go to a Sterling Alternator to Battery split charger..that could be the link.will disconnect tomorrow..ta Loafer...cheers..I will disconnect each circuit negative to try and identify Want to know if its anything I should worry about really
  7. Hi all.. Asking eletricity boffins a question please... I have twelve 12v circuits, all positive connections go to my fuse board and all negative connections go to a terminal bar. The negative connection from terminal bar to battery has not yet been made, however, when I connect the negative battery to hull lead all my 12v circuits operate.. Is this something to worry about or is this normal? Thanks in anticipation
  8. Last boat I sold through a broker was priced to sell (in my view)...I instructed the broker to refuse and not to contact me if an offer of under £7000 of asking price was made...It was my choice as a seller
  9. Do what you want to do!..then go to XR&D and get what you asked for
  10. Hi, my DM2 is a 2012 build, in answer to your questions I can only tell you what mine is like:- 1.....oil pressure is 40 when cold, 30 - 35 when hot 2....60° thermostat fitted and under heavy use it has risen to 65° 3....I used normal ethylene glycol which has proved ok 4...my driveplate casing is completly dry, but probably because its only 3yr old
  11. I am a DM2 owner, honest! :-) ;-)...as above it does have a mixture and yes Whitworth too!, but that is imperial! ..also metric allen screws...something I have found quite important is an oil can for the governor as mine requires oiling most days
  12. Mine has a mixture of both....I have found it responds well to an adjustable spanner and a 4lb copper an hide mallet though! ;-) :-)
  13. Thankyou for your kind admiration..You are correct in my eyes anyway that the pics do not do it justice..Gary, Lee and myself think it was a piece of beauty
  14. It bought it new in Jan 2013..and yes it has cost me but I'm building my dream :-)
  15. Thankyou Athy...if I could upload pics from my phone I would show you..A DM2 has taken root in there! :-)
  16. The said boat is mine..The dimensions for the shell were given to XR and D by myself, and they constructed it exacly how I wanted it..I cannot stress how pleased I am with it, it's a credit to their workmanship.. The 17ft aft swim rises by 8" to allow it to sit on its 'bum'..When it is fully fitted out and correctly ballasted it will look the biz!.. to me anyway lol..I also know we all have different tastes ;-) :-)
  17. Baldwins B 178 is fitted to my DM2.

  19. I've aways used pva sealer on the ply and gripfill on the tiles, never had one fall off, but if you want to change them at some point you will need a big hammer and chisel!
  20. The company was not V A T registered when I purchased a DM2
  21. Had this fault on mine a long time ago. It was the microswitch, it had just slipped on the screw and the on/off knob failed to press it in! Don't know if that makes sense!
  22. Gary and Lee at XR and D. Quality with affordability! Another satisfied ex customer.
  23. Looks superb! Not surprised though, they did an excellent job on my shell last year
  24. Does that mean that I can put my 10 litres of waste oil from oil change in my DM2 into my 300litre fueltank of diesel?
  25. I recieved excellent quality and service from X R and D boatbuilders when I had my shell built. They produce steelwork for many boat fitters.
