  1. You could always limit the 100 a month to the worst months weatherise/stoppage wise of the year .This would give the authorities the incentive to get the jobs done quickly.
  2. It is strange to think that Birmingham was once part of Aston not the other way round as it is today

  7. lots of streets in birmingham have been turned into swimming pools so heaven knows what other places are like.
  8. hmm the Facebook and blogger links do not seem to take you anywhere either.i would like to see his design for the working boat of the future.
  9. I remember Snow hill station as a Kid. as we often traveled to shrewsbury to visit relations there. It was i think just before it was demolished as it was pretty run down and noisy. It was a nicer station than New street even then .It is not bad now really but functional as a posed to nice no domed glass skylights.

  11. Is it sunk somewhere or was it totally scraped after sinking ?
  12. I do like the woodwork but not really sure about the faux leather walls or did i misread that .I suppose the vanished hull is more difficult to keep up than a painted ones you see more often

Dunster in Somerset was said to be a base for launches apparently the lakes at the back of Dunster beach were harbour areas.
  15. I would not have thought you need a licence to take pictures on the tow path unless it is owned privately. certain parts of the canal in Birmingham i believe are owned by the local wharf .
  16. I never fail to be amassed at how much people think they can charge for things. i can only put it down to managers that have been brought up in the fake economic boom of the year since maggies rule. Never known hard times.I think this is down to the stupidity of the business men involved rather than BW. I hope the staff were payed or get payed but i think they are fairly low in the pecking order.
  17. especially if you fall in .It seems to be happening more and more often. If they are good to eat an open season on them may be an answer after all in other countries admittedly third world countries mostly they eat there pests.
  18. My link moral etiquette are your own but this site seems to suggest that there is no copyright involved and i can see no reason why saving people the time to ask the same question of the authority can be considered in any way underhand and could be seen as an advantage to the sender and sendee As far as actions go it is not a real auction the price is set with a 10% wiggle room.
  19. Is every No mooring notice you see on the cut backed by law. I should think that in some cases at least it is merely a scare tactic. If the question you asked was private to you or a person on who's behalf you are acting then it would be wrong to publish it but if it is a matter of policy then it may save BW a lot of time answering lots of similar requests for information as policy should not change from person to person..
  20. It is a nice looking boat i wonder what its destiny will be? museum piece or other display item or sombodies home/business
  21. to correct miss thoughts. maybe if the all the attractions there joined ie Zoo ,Museum and castle then they would be able to keep visiter numbers up and review the entrance charges.
  22. Hopefully they are posting the appeal widely e.g. cycling organisations, fishing ,walking etc, otherwise it will only be the people interested in the canals for floating boats that will see it.being unemployed at the moment i would much rather go and help physically with the repair than contribute monetarily. I The kids can have the seeds because it's an insignificant sum that could be worth a fortune in goodwill. Better still if they gave them the seed to grow the plants that line the canals and see there hard work growing there.
  23. I went there some time ago and enjoyed the underground mine tour in hard hats that were taped up so as to allow the sort of light levels available to miners at the time.and the tram rides were good
