  1. Not a location I would choose to stop overnight.
  2. There is always plenty of activity around there on weekends, the paddle boats are far more of a pain than the wide beam.
  3. I thought that was where you were referring to but did double check it was that bridge.
  4. Did you get some cheap diesel at the same time...?
  5. Are only issue last year was the lock closure on the T&M, we had been up on the Montgomery and were deciding which way to head back to Great Haywood when we got the stoppage notice so that made the decision for us. Didn't impact our cruising or change how many days we were out boating, in fact we stayed out longer as I worked from the boat instead of going back to the office because we met up with some friends unexpectedly in Penkridge.
  6. Thought it was quite a negative survey.
  7. The Cotswold Canal Trust have built and restored locks recently.
  8. Fradley tap outside the cafe is extremely slow, usually enough time to order and eat breakfast whilst waiting for the tank to fill.
  9. We have Symphony Paints Off White, it is quite creamy though. You can walk to Symphony Paints from the canal around Birmingham, not sure exactly where the best stopping place is though. Or if you are around Penkridge, Park Gate have a wide choice of paint brands.
  10. We have Symphony Paints Ferrari red so we can go faster.
  11. We use an inverter for powering our router, TV, media streamer, laptop, phone\tablet chargers, hairdryer and DAB radio as it is easier to just plug those things in with the supplied cable. I do switch the laptop charger on and off throughout the day though to preserve the laptop battery. Having solar installed made a massive difference and enables us to go throughout the summer only running the engine to move the boat. I do use gas for the kettle and for making toast though.
  12. Roach may be in the Birmingham area.
  13. That was my thinking, the impact must have been to the door first and then scraped down the side otherwise the cabin side would be dented and there wouldn't be enough momentum left to cause damage like that to the door.

    Licences

But you said everyone pay the same but it wouldn't be the same unless the fee paid by marinas was removed and added to everyone's license fee instead.

But would all the ccers be happy paying the increased rate to bring them up to the same level as the home moorers pay through the mooring surcharge?
  16. Ocker Hill aqueduct crosses the Tame.
  17. The aqueduct at Salford junction is over the River Tame.
  18. Probably one of them old unloaded working boats with a high bow.
  19. 1 furlong further along according to canal plan.
  20. Looks like Tame aqueduct, just before Fazeley aqueduct.
  21. Any use https://www.amazon.co.uk/Hatz-Yanmar-Ignitions-Premier-Benford/dp/B0051OF3ZW
  22. We've just had one of these controllers installed with a webasto. I followed the procedure in the manual to set the comfort temperatures which is how they manage when it turns on or off. If we want it to stay on for longer then increase the temperature using the up arrow and tap the tick when you have the temperature you want it to turn off at.
  23. The dates I posted came from The Other Sixty Miles which I presumed was a reasonable reference for the BCN.
  24. Smeaton lowered the summit in 1786-87.
