  1. Dear All I have been chasing up a match for Kelvin Green. The Stationary Engine Company have discovered the following we have been in touch with British Polar Engines which is what remains of the Kelvin business and have discovered what the original shade of green paint was that was used on the Kelvin engines. It is a colour in its own right, a special mix if you like so does not equate to any British standard or RAL colour but we now know exactly what it they are now supplying it...link to Kelvin Green Hope this helps anyone in search of Kelvin Green x

  6. Dear all I used to work with Mick Cull years ago. I first met him while he was building boats outside Harefield Marina about 1990. He then moved to the cement works at Springwell Lock. He built a boat for Ted the owner and in exchange had use of his workshop and a specially built concrete slab and lean too. I worked with Mick for a few years and we built maybe 4 or 5 boats. I believe he moved to an airfield near Aylesbury to build a wide beam boat. I lost contact with him after this move but would love to hear from him if anyone knows his whereabouts
  7. Hi all I have started a gallery of the work My linkand hope to get a website/restoration blog up and running soon. I am adding new details every time I make progress on my Facebook page My link. I must admit I haven't quite got the hang of adding pictures to this forum...I just need a spare evening to have a go. I have written to the owner of the stern and hope to get the chance to measure and photograph it for the new stern Thanks for all your interest
  8. Cheers Tim for posting these...much appreciated. I am unsure how to post a picture to this post but I have started a gallery page of the work done to date on Gorse/Water Lupin if anyone is interested. The boat was in a terrible state when I acquired her having suffered at the hands of a rather zealous DIYer. She was advertised as prepped for restoration which translated as completely ruined and in need of total rebuild
  9. Hi Steve

I hope you are well and its not too cold in Canada! Paul has sent me images of the original stern of Gorse and I have made several trips to survey Mendip but I was hoping you might have images of Admiral during its restoration especially the stern from the inside before the back cabin went in...it would just be a missing jigsaw piece

    All the best Toby

Just checking - Did you get my email about sending the pictures of Badsey to canalchef@tiscali.co.uk

  11. Hi Martyn

I have had a week on Gorse prepping up for the new stern so a great week all in all. Finalizing shows for next year too so we must all catch up for a cuppa and slice of cake! Say hi to Geoff x

  12. Hi Toby

Holiday was great thanks, didnt really want to come back. Seems a distant memory now having spent the last week doing Launch and recovery trials at Dungeness. How are things going with you?

  14. To all those lovers of engine porn...this lovely Bolinder is to be fitted in Gorse next year to replace the SR3. I cant wait to get those chaps down from Marine Power Services to fire her up and hopefully avoid blowing a hole in the roof
