  1. I am not 100% certain but I do believe that there is a separate 5a output on the board for the start bat
  2. the trim screw on the avr is there to adjust the voltage adjusting the engine speed will change the frequency not the voltage . I have never worked on a mastervolt genny it would be helpful if you could post a photo of it unless you all ready know where the avr is if its an open frame genny its normally under the cap on the end of the alternator
  3. you have no need to buy a Honda genny I have been using my kipor ig1000 for the last 5 years now and had no problems what so ever with it and it has lived all its life in the open on my back deck I run a sterling 1600/80 combie and when shes moored close enough my miusses 25a charger at the same time my combie is set to 30a it also ran her victron 1600/70 combie no probs its set to 40a
  4. if you can help it you shouldn't use the 12v charger on a genny as it is taken of one bobbin on the windings of the alternator and tends to cook if put on a dead battery . but that kills the rest of the alternator and on a Honda eu10i new windings are just under £400 NOT INCLUSEVE OF VAT. please don't use them
  5. the reason for running it in gear is to keep a load on the engine to try to avoid glazeing the bores it does help a bit but not much have a good 1 riki
  6. hi it sounds to me like the battery had a short on some of the plates it could have burned the short out and be back all most as good as new or it could well be as u said knackered till u try it with a heavy load u will not know . if u have a good set of jump leads u could try jumping ur car off of it rather than going back to the boat .
  7. yes sump pumps r very common u should b able 2 get 1 from any chandlrey or u could buy an oil extractor pump which should come with a pipe small enough 2 go down the dipstick tube that is the way i change my oil u can get extractor pumps from machien mart or ebay hope this helps . have a good 1 riki
  8. yes the kipor suitcase gennys r great as long as u dont let them overheat or run low on oil . my mate is the main ennginer for all the big importers and he says the biggest killer is ppl not changeing the oil-overheating them (they draw there cooling air in through the bottom)-and over filling them with oil (which all so causes over heating)but as long as u change the oil regularly there great have a good 1 riki
  9. if ur really worried about it try buying and old cheap video camra and keep it on the roof that seems to solve a lot of trouble as there not 2 keen to b videoed stonethrowing as the camra never lies have a good cruise riki
  10. if u can find the fuel solinoid u could try 2 open it with a direct 12v+ link and see if that helps
