  10. Same here, no decorations until after my brother's birthday, 16th December when we were kids. Nowadays, Ellen and I usually do it on Christmas Eve, we also watch Sword of Xanten (no reason, it's so ridiculous it's beyond parody) whilst wrapping presents before we go to midnight service if Ellen is singing. I'm going to try for Bad Santa this year but we're creatures of habit and it might not be the best before midnight service! I usually decorate the boat with battery-powered LED lights, of which I now have a fine array. The ceiling has spray-painted branches attached to it and I hang our hand-embroidered decorations and assorted time-assemblied baubles, some of which date back to the 1920s. We have a tradition of making or gaining one Christmas decoration a year and with it are the family memories that make it rather special. I still have the glitter-encrusted cardboard hanging charms that Ellen made when she was little although the near threadbare tinsel she bought when she first had pocket money at five is possibly not going to make it. Decorating the boat also marks the first cutting of the Christmas cake and the opening of the Christmas malt. Aardbeg this year.

  13. So if oxygen is a good thing to aid decomposition and or reduce smell, would some of that Oxy washing aid stuff be of any use. FYI on the MH I use 2 tea mugs of the cheapest bio powder I can find and the results are perfectly acceptable and the smell is far nicer than blue. Some times the half full cassette will be on the MH for weeks before the next use and emptying.
