Interesting but, as I said, I disagreed strongly with what you were saying, on that particular thread, and there is no climb down, in my pm, merely an admission that I didn't want to continue the discussion, when the thread had descended so far into petty insults. As you see misogyny around every corner and your attack on me here is in stark contrast to your private response to my pm, placing you firmly in the cowardly, lying camp, life must be one long disappointment.

Careful what you say. A lot of us here have given our time as volunteers to canal restoration projects up and down the country. Is handling the money any better than handling bricks, mortar and concrete? Anything is a bonus.....

I don't know about massive, as I suspect that more and more of this stuff is driving people away from any sensible debate about the original topics, (in this, and in many other threads). (Do you have vast experience of GRP boats speeding down the Oxford, causing mayhem or do you actually just want to rant about "speeders" generally, for example ? You have not said, but I strongly suspect you have any relevant knowledge about the Lee to bring to the debate). Frankly it is pretty depressing that every thread is getting riddled with pointless arguing about unrelated topics. And it is pointless, as it's obvious that those you are arguing with are hardly likely to be won over by your "technique". Do you actually feel the need for the audience? - because frankly PMs would make life better for those who don't want to watch the spats.
