Heartland
Fred Dibnah dubbed the experimental cycle boat tried on the Manchester, Bolton & Bury Canal, the Navigator, in 2000. John Fletcher's image of the trial may well be an incentive for others to try.

Sea Dog
A mate of mine had some of those quite a few years ago. He was hoping to make his fortune as the importer (they were made in Canada iirc). When he took one out on the water it always attracted a lot of attention, but no-one else ever actually wanted one. Now folk are paddling all over the place standing up on a wobbly wind surfer and thinking it's cool (what IS that about?) maybe it's time for him to try again! Richard10002
Saw the SayYesMore litter picking water bike on The Bridgewater Canal at Stretford this morning. Seemed very stable to me. https://sayyesmore.com/waterbikecollective You can volunteer to ride it for a day or longer if you wish.
Sir Nibble
Built one. Bloody hard work but it did a few miles in Portsmouth harbour including gatecrashing a Trafalgar anniversary thing with a rider dressed as napoleon and two pyrotecnic broadsides into the assembled admirals and civic dignitaries. Ian F B
Used to be loads of these at Barrow on Soar hired out to all sorts of people who floated about aimlessly trying to get sunk by the next available narrow boat?
