Some rather unwelcome news for some of you. Yesterday while moored outside Thorn Marine I met Sonny Smith the enforcement officer, he was wearing his ID and carrying his IPad. Firstly he introduced him self to me and asked if I knew the rules on visiting the Bridgewater, he then said so that you dont think I am peering in you windows i am checking and photographing you CRT licence. He than gave me his card and said if I had any problems what so ever whilst on the Bridgewater Canal to ring him and he would do his best to assist me, be it breakdown, getting stuck, whatever.

All in all he was a complete gentleman who behaved in a very professional manner, not what I expected. We shook hands and he departed on his way while I gave the credit card a good hiding.

Seems he has learned a thing or two about good customer service in his years in the job.

Yes, but if your mooring is on CRT waters next to the Bridgewater and want to cruise for the weekend (and another weekend within a month) or indeed for two or three week cruise and returning to your mooring, then this is problematical.

Are you able to travel one way could yo not go Bridgewater & then a couple of trips on C&RT then start over again
