hackenbush
I'm planning on a trip from March in Cambs to London in October, the earliest possible, ideally the very start, and was looking for advice esp regarding the conditions on the Nene. I'll be on a 48ft narrowboat, hopefully with a companion

Dave /Helen
We are on the Nene and it's a lovely and quiet river, one thing to remember is there isn't a lot of moorings so plan ahead !! And if we get a lot of rain some bridges are low, Edited September 18, 2016 by Dave /Helen

And if we get a lot of rain some bridges are low, Yes, plan the moorings. We had an issue with moorings when we were on it a couple of years ago. Be aware that some knownmoorings and some "unofficial" but mapped moorings can be difficult to use it you have pets to get off or any disablement. Scholar Gypsy
Suggest you subscribe to the EA strong stream alerts (text/email). The gauegmap website will also show you what's happening to the river levels further upstream. http://www.gaugemap.co.uk/#!Detail/1737

That's going to make for a dear pint, was always a favourite run from NBC to Cogenhoe and back for a beer or two. Makes Fotheringhay look cheap, and the money goes to the Church there (if that's your thing) I've edited the list to reflect your findings Edited September 20, 2016 by gazza
